Hyderabad FC's Shameel Chembakath expresses confidence in his team ahead of final ISL game

Shameel Chembakath’s Hyderabad FC host the Kerala Blasters as they play the last game of the league stage tomorrow
Shameel Chembakath’s Hyderabad FC play their final home match of this ISL 2024-25 season as they host Kerala Blasters FC on March 12th 2025 at the GMC Balayogi Stadium, Hyderabad.
Hyderabad FC’s interim head coach, Shameel Chembakath, spoke to the media earlier today at the pre-match press conference.
Coach Shameel’s thoughts on their overall performance
Reflecting on the team’s overall performance this season, Coach Shameel acknowledged that there are significant areas for growth and improvement for the Nawabs.
“We have had ups and downs, and we have made progress. We were also consistent, but there are a lot of things that we need to learn. We know what we need to work on to improve for the Super Cup and upcoming season. But I would assure that the fans can expect a team that will keep on improving. We will work hard and aim to give a better result for the super cup too. Also, we are determined to keep growing and make them proud.”
On the team’s progress throughout the season
After a challenging previous season with only one victory, Hyderabad FC demonstrated notable growth this year. Despite missing the playoffs, the team delivered several strong performances. Coach Shameel highlighted the team’s significant progress throughout the season.
“Of course, if you see the last season, we have been going through a learning experience. We have made some progress, and you know there is always room for improvement. We are just focusing on that, and we keep on growing and building a process that we can become stronger in the future. Of course, this match will be more important and players are determined to take this match very seriously. We know that we will be taking this in a positive way.” He stated.
On a win over Kerala earlier this season
Building on their 2-1 victory over Kerala Blasters earlier this season and a strong home record in 2025, Hyderabad FC, under Coach Shameel, are focused on maintaining momentum by taking positives from each match and taking things one step at a time.
“I think every positive result has been giving us a boost. I am not comparing the reverse fixture’s result with the other matches or the one tomorrow. It’s all about improving every match. We are taking this with the idea of one match at a time. Of course, this is the final match and fans are expecting something. They have been backing us despite the results. So I would say that this match will be for them and we will give a better result.” He concluded.
