Seven Minerva Punjab players selected for India U-19 national camp
With these new entrants the players called for various national camps from Minerva Punjab across different age groups have gone up to 72.
Amidst the controversies surrounding the All India Football Federation (AIFF) and Minerva Punjab, there is a change in the air as seven players from the Minerva Punjab academy have been selected for the India U-19 camp in Bhubaneshwar, Orissa.
The players called up for the camp from Minerva Punjab are
1. Devansh Dabas2. Luntingmang Haokip3. Shailo Lalchhanhimo4. Bikash Yumnam5. M. Thoiba Singh6. Abishek Verma7. RV Hormipam.
With these seven new entrants, the players called for the national camp from Minerva Punjab across various age groups have gone upto to an astounding 72. The whopping number shows how much the Warriors have invested in their youth academy and gives priority to youth development within the club.
In this time, they have bagged several titles including the senior I-League title in the 2017/18 season along with three U-13 I-League crowns, one U-15 I-League sucess and the recently concluded U-18 I-League championship.

Minerva's aim has always been to keep youth development at the forefront, as they wanted to create a platform for local talent to prosper. Their main motive remains to promote youngsters for the national team across age-groups and so far it seems that the club has achieved what it was looking for.

The article has been updated on 14:21, 16th April 2019. Earlier this report stated that eight Minerva Punjab players were called for the national camp. But the club clarified to us that Bakey Oram (mentioned earlier) is not in the club's books, the inclusion of his name as a Minerva player is an AIFF mistake. Oram plies his trade for Bengaluru FC.
