Some of the most talented forwards in the country lead the Indian chart.

Since its inauguration in 2014, the Indian Super League has witnessed incredible forwards score a record-breaking number of goals. After the conclusion of the 2021/22 season, the Indian national team and Bengaluru FC skipper Sunil Chhetri reached the 51 goals mark. Apparently, he is the second-highest goalscorer in ISL history. Notably, Chhetri is also the highest Indian goalscorer of the competition.

He surpassed the benchmark set by Spaniard Ferran Corominas, who held the record for scoring the most number of goals (48) in the history of the ISL. Currently, Chhetri is just behind Bartholomew Ogbeche, who is now topping the chart with 53 goals.

Having said that, apart from Chhetri, many other Indian attackers have also scored a lot of goals for their respective teams. Even though most teams put their faith in foreign attackers, some Indian forwards broke through and showcased their goalscoring feats. Looking at the statistics, here are the top five highest Indian goalscorers in ISL history.

Manvir Singh - 15 goals in 92 matches

Plying for ATK Mohun Bagan, Manvir Singh is the fifth footballer in this list. He is in sublime form since 2020. In two consecutive seasons, he netted six goals each and took his tally to 15 in 92 appearances.

Singh has been playing in the ISL since 2017/18. Prior to joining ATK Mohun Bagan in 2020, the 26-year-old was playing for FC Goa. His goalscoring prowess wasn't witnessed during his stint at the club. But ever since joining the Mariners, he has kept on scoring.
