Thrissur Magic FC script history taming Kombans 0-1 at their fortress in Super League Kerala

Komban’s face their first ever defeat against Thrissur Magic.
History is written at the Chandrasekharan Nair Stadium as the visitors, Thrissur Magic FC, beat the hosts Thiruvananthapuram in front of their vocal fans with a narrow 0-1 margin in Super League Kerala on the 17th of October 2025.
In the first half, the Thrissur captain, Mailson Alves, opened the accounts for the visitors after skillfully heading in the lofted ball from Marcus Joseph to provide his team with the advantage.
From then on, the momentum shifted from the Kombans to the Magicians, and they dictated the further proceedings of the match. In the second half, despite numerous efforts from the Kombans to find the equaliser and provide their fans at least a point, the Magicians displayed pure magic in the backline and resisted the hosts from making the scores level.
Mailson Alves breaks the deadlock

Thrissur Magic FC initiated the proceedings, and from the very first minute, the Kombans displayed an offensive intent as they consistently initiated their attacks and won a good number of set pieces, which, however, they were unable to convert.
Thissur, on the other hand, started slowly and steadily, collectively defending the Kombans’ attacks and occasionally crafting their own attacks. This bore instant results as one such attack led to the Kombans conceding a corner in the 12th minute, which paved the way for the opener.
Faizaz deployed a beautiful ball inside the 6-yard area, which, after a series of touches, went straight to Marcus, who seamlessly lofted the ball to the second post, where Mailson Alves was lurking, who headed in the ball to breach the net and break the deadlock for the Magicians yet again.
Just minutes later, Marcus got a chance to double the advantage, but Aaryan was alert and closed down the Trinidad and Tobago striker.
Later, somewhere down the line, Kombans lacked the intensity they displayed in the initial minutes, and their only real chance came off a long-range shot from Ronald, which Kamaludheen exceptionally saved, diving to the right. From then on, neither team created any significant chances, and at half-time Thrissur were on the upper edge with their one-goal advantage following a defensive error from the hosts.
A Sloppy Second-Half

In the second half, though both teams started to intensify their attacks from the flanks, the lack of communication and coordination meant that a positive output was not created in the final third. Additionally, the heavy rains and the wet outfield made the Kombans and the Magicians struggle and added to their work.
However, the Kombans kept attacking aggressively, fueled by the accelerated runs by Ronald from the right, who kept piling pressure on the visitors, questioning them on their narrow advantage. However, despite this pressure, the Thrissur backline, spearheaded by Mailson, kept their composure, and Kamaludheen was sharp between the sticks to somehow prevent the Kombans from finding the equaliser.
The game further progressed with Thrissur displaying some excellent ball control and even coming to some close calls to scoring. As the game entered the stoppage time, Thiruvananthapuram attacked back-to-back, but once again, the visitors created an impenetrable defensive setup that Kombans failed to break, and at full time, Thrissur clinched a historic 0-1 victory away from home.
