India vs Maldives LIVE: FIFA Women's International Friendly Streaming
The Blue Tigresses will face a tough challenge against Maldives.
The Indian women’s team under the leadership of coach Joakim Alexandersson are taking on Maldives in FIFA International Friendlies on December 30, 2024, and January 2, 2025. These matches will mark the final outings for the Indian team this year, offering them an opportunity to regain momentum amid a challenging phase.
The first match is set to take place at the Padukone – Dravid Centre for Sports Excellence. The match will kick off at 3:30 PM IST.
Ahead of the match, the Swedish coach, Alexandersson, said, “We have some senior women’s players joining us in the Bengaluru camp so we’ll have a mix of U20 and senior players for this match. We’re going to try and implement some things in tomorrow’s game. It’s nice to see and train the best in the country.”
India are currently experiencing a turbulent run, having won only five of their last 17 matches. This slump has seen the team drop to their lowest-ever FIFA ranking of 69. With the 2026 AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers on the horizon, the All India Football Federation (AIFF) is keen to improve their ranking to secure a more favorable pot position in the continental tournament qualifiers.
The upcoming friendlies against Maldives provide a crucial opportunity for the team to work on their strategy, boost morale, and regain confidence. India’s attacking and defensive dynamics will likely be under scrutiny as the coaching staff aims to iron out weaknesses before entering competitive qualifiers.
