Indian women's national team players Soumya Guguloth and Jyoti Chouhan have joined Dinamo Zagreb women's team as their first-ever overseas signings. Both young players, who lifted the Indian Women's League (IWL) title with Gokulam Kerala last season, were signed by the club following a successful trial. They have penned a one-year contract with the Croatian club.
Soumya and Jyoti were among the 12 players who took part in the Women In Sports trials held in Kolkata from June 6 to 11. The camp was attended by several coaches of top teams from around the world, including coaches of Rangers WFC, Marbella FC, WFC Dinamo Zagreb, Western Sydney Wanders. Both players were then invited for a 15-day trial as well as to attend the club's pre-season by Dinamo Zagreb.

What Dinamo Zagreb coach said:
"I'm satisfied. We have signed the players we need to improve the team. They went through a really long process of checking in India itself, as well as checking in Croatia, so we are well acquainted with their capabilities," said coach Marija Margareta Damjanovic on the signings.
The club's president Josipa Maslac Petricevic also praised both players and asserted Soumya and Jyoti will boost the team.
"We put together the puzzle step by step and now, in the seventh year of the club's existence, we have gone one step further. I believe that both Soumya (Guguloth) and Jyoti (Chouhan) will justify the trust of the coach and the coaching staff. This is truly an exciting time for us, since it is our first foreign reinforcements."
