Kenya coach Sebastian Migne holds training camp ahead of Intercontinental Cup

The African nation is ranked 113 in the FIFA rankings.

Ahead of the Intercontinental Cup, Kenya head coach Sebastian Migne held a practice session with the National side on Tuesday.

Kenya was announced as a replacement of South Africa in the Intercontinental Cup a few days ago, which will be beginning from June 1. For Migne, who was appointed as the coach of the Kenyan National Team on 3rd May this year, it was his first session with the Harambee Stars.

The practice session saw 25 players joining up under the new coach. “This is the first of many training sessions we shall have, with an aim of assessing the players to identify potential national team call-ups,” said Migne.

The Kenya side will be playing against Swaziland and Equatorial Guinea on May 25 and May 28 respectively in preparation of the Intercontinental Cup next month.

Interestingly, Kenya have called up players only from the country to the training camp. The likes of Victor Wanyama has not been called up to the camp. However, that might change in the near future as the coach had admitted on 'assessing' players to find out potential national team call-ups. The French coach has also revealed that it was the first of many training camps, hinting at other possible camps before the Intercontinental Cup in June.
