Indian Player Ratings: Nishu Kumar and Gaurav Mukhi star in thrilling draw at Kanteerava
(Courtesy : Nutra Supplements)
A regulation win for Bengaluru spiralled into a stalemate for the Blues against the Men of Steel.
Carles Cuadrat would have been preparing his post-match comments related to a 1-0 win, but what transpired was a thrilling 2-2 draw at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium thanks to a late goal-rush. A first half strike from Nishu Kumar had set the hosts on their way to three points, but late goals from Gourav Mukhi, Sunil Chhetri and Sergio Cidoncha led to spoils being shared.
Watch: Bengaluru FC 1-0 Chennaiyin FC highlights
Here are our Indian player ratings for the day.
Bengaluru FC
Gurpreet Singh Sandhu- 6.0
It seemed like Gurpreet was borrowing dressing tips from Alisson as he was dressed in a bright yellow for the game. He was not challenged in the first half and was largely untested for the most part of the second half till about 10 minutes before the end. Commanded his area well.
Rahul Bheke - 5.5
A relatively better performance compared to his nervy display in Bengaluru's ISL opener against Chennaiyin. Had more space to advance into the final third, but his final delivery was lacking on most occasions.
Nishu Kumar - 6.5
Had a far greater role on the left flank as compared to his no-show against Chennayin. Capped off the first half with a beautifully taken volley from the edge of the 18-yard box. Was very lucky to not concede a penalty when he fouled an onrushing Jerry inside the box.
Harmanjot Khabra - 6.0
Released a flying Udanta with a glorious first-time pass that caught the entire Jamshedpur defence off guard. His influence waned as the game progressed and Jamshedpur pushed their defensive and midfield lines higher up the pitch in the quest to come back into the match.
Udanta Singh - 6.0
The Bengaluru livewire had a glorious chance to open the scoring when he latched on to Khabra's first-time ball and had a chance to square it to an onrushing Chhetri, but botched his cross. Was largely restricted in the second half which led to Bengaluru's attacking threat being tempered.
Sunil Chhetri - 6.0
The Bengaluru talisman was on his game as he had more room to work his magic as compared to Chennayin. Was denied chances to score on either side of the first half and worked tirelessly for his team's cause. His late goal appeared to have won the game for the home team, but his team's back four let him down as the hosts had to share the spoils.
Substitution
Boithang Haokip - N/A
Used late in the game to provide fresh legs up front and to help Bengaluru hold the ball up in the opposition half in order to wind down the clock.

Jamshedpur FC
Subashish Roy Chowdhury- 6.0
The 32-year-old had some nervy moments in the first half, but kept his side in the game with some easy saves. Could not do anything against both the Bengaluru goals, but will be relieved that his side came away with a deserved draw.
Bikash Jairu- 6.0
Watch: Jerry Lalrinzuala was one of the few standout players for the visitors
Had his hands full in having to deal with Udanta and stuck to his task well. Was given a run around on a few occasions, but can be happy with his performance in the game.
Raju Gaikwad - 6.0
Solid performance in the first half in keeping Miku and Chhetri on a leash. Marshalled the defence very well, but was taken off for Mohammed Mobashir in the quest for a goal.
Yumnam Raju- 5.5
Had a huge task on his hands to keep both Chhetri and Nishu quiet. Managed to nullify Nishu's influence, but did not follow Chhetri into central areas when the talisman was given a free role.
Michael Soosairaj- 5.0
Was tasked to play as a foil to the veteran Tim Cahill and harry the Bengaluru defence in their defensive third. Was a poor performance from the former Chennai City midfielder. Was surprising that he was retained on the pitch for the entire game.
Jerry Mawhmingthanga- 6.0
Tested Nishu on a few occasions in the first half, but was found taking too many touches on many occasions. Was very unlucky not to win a penalty in the second half as he was hacked down by the full-back. Was replaced by striker Gourav Mukhi late in the second half.
Substitutions
Gourav Mukhi - 7.0
Turned out to be the catalyst for his team's return into the game. Jamshedpur's positive approach in the second half along with Mukhi's industry led to the Jharkhand club finding a way back into the match.
[KH_RELATED_NEWS title="Related News"][/KH_RELATED_NEWS]Mohammed Mobashir - 5.5
Replaced Raju Gaikwad as Jamshedpur chose to take the game to the hosts rather than settle for a restricted approach. Added energy to the midfield as the visitors searched for an equaliser.
