Both tacticians agreed that the Men of Steel were the better side on the pitch until the first goal.

A clinical display by FC Pune City saw them run out as 4-1 victors against Jamshedpur FC at the JRD Tata Sports Complex on Saturday. Robin Singh starred for the Stallions with a brace, while Marcelo Pereira and Ashique Kuruniyan scored one each. Carlos Calvo grabbed a consolation goal for Jamshedpur late in the match.

At the post-match presser, Pune head coach Phil Brown analysed the action on the pitch and said, "At the start of the game, it was the strongest start any opposing team has made against us. Until we scored, I thought, Jamshedpur were the best team we have played against. They were passing the ball with ease. They were passing the ball close. They hit the crossbar in the early stage. But then we had a couple of counter attacks. I believe that Robin Singh, Iain Hume and Marcelo Pereira will score goals in the league. We just have to get the ball to them. It wasn’t just the front three tonight. The work-rate and organization of the team was something to admire," he said.

The Englishman, unbeaten in his three matches since taking over the team, then humbly played down his contribution behind that the Stallions’ recent success. "As a coach, when you go into a club, you take over a problem. I don’t think I inherited a big problem. I inherited a team that had won two games. When you inherit such a team, you have to understand the league. Secondly, I had four weeks to work with this group of players. That was my moment as a coach," he opined.

From Jamshedpur's end, head coach Cesar Ferrando shared his reaction after the disappointing defeat at home. He said, "I think we played good football in the first 20 minutes. I think we made chances to score. We played very bad after the first goal. We lost a lot of balls in our half. They could counter-attack easily. We must analyse this match."

Ferrando, however, refused to give up on his team's play-off hopes despite the damaging loss. Looking ahead to the remaining fixtures, he said, "The most important thing is the next match in Chennai. We have to win. We have to try and be in the top four. We need to win two matches. The most important thing is Chennai. The recovery of the players is important. We have to work hard and do our best against Chennaiyin."
