The visitors were let down by the performances of their attackers.
Antonio Habas’ resurgent ATK side picked up a crucial victory against Bengaluru FC by dismissing the reigning champions with a 1-0 scoreline. The ATK defenders formed an impenetrable wall at the back and the Blues couldn’t find any way past them over the course of the fixture. A snapshot from David Williams in the second half turned out to be the difference between the sides as the Kolkata-based outfit rise to the top of the ISL table, at least for the time being. [KH_ADWORDS type="3" align="center"][/KH_ADWORDS] Here are the Indian Player Ratings:ATK
Arindam Bhattacharya- 6.0 The ATK shot-stopper didn’t look very comfortable collecting aerial balls on the night, but didn’t have too much else to deal with in terms of the Blues’ attack. Pritam Kotal- 6.5 The defender maintained his position well over the course of the match and didn’t allow the Bengaluru attackers much space to run into on his side of the pitch. Sumit Rathi- 6.5 Like his defensive partner, the Indian did well to keep the Bengaluru attackers at bay for the entire 90 minutes and took a couple of good touches as well.Watch: ATK 1-0 Bengaluru FC highlights
Prabir Das- 7.0 Showed once again that he’s more than capable of operating down the flank, as he kept up with the powerful forward running of Soosairaj on the other side. Jayesh Rane- 7.5 The midfielder was at the heart of everything positive that this ATK side created on the night and worked extremely hard while tracking back as well. Michael Soosairaj- 7.0 Worked tirelessly off the ball as usual and made considerable strides going forward as well. Needs to work on his end product and final delivery into the box though. Jobby Justin- N/A Came on too late to have any impact. Sehnaj Singh- N/A Came on too late to have any impact.Bengaluru FC
Gurpreet Singh Sandhu- 5.5 The Bengaluru keeper arguably should’ve got a touch on Williams' strike, but the purity of the strike can’t be contested. Didn’t have too much else to deal with. [KH_ADWORDS type="2" align="center"][/KH_ADWORDS] Rahul Bheke- 6.5 The Indian international tried to make forward movements in the second half, but his final delivery let him down. Used his strength well to keep the ATK attackers away. Harmanjot Khabra- 6.5 Popped up all over the pitch and did his usual job of mopping up at the back extremely well. Needs to do a better job of getting into the final third though. Nishu Kumar- 6.0 The youngster was deployed in a very unfamiliar role and found it extremely hard to make an impact on the tie. Misplaced too many passes and could not deliver the goods. [KH_ADWORDS type="1" align="center"][/KH_ADWORDS] Udanta Singh- 5.0 The Bengaluru speedster was barely allowed to come into the game by the ATK defenders, as they marshalled him thoroughly right from the opening minutes of the fixture. Sunil Chhetri- 6.0 Didn’t have his usual impact in front of goal, despite having a couple of decent first half chances. The Blues need to find an alternative central striking option quickly.
