The assistant coach voiced his pleasure with the win against a big opponent.

ATK jumped over FC Goa to the top of the Indian Super League (ISL) table with a 2-0 win over the Gaurs at the Salt Lake Stadium, Kolkata on Saturday. Goals from Pritam Kotal and Jayesh Rane in the 47th and 88th minute sealed all three points for ATK, who now move into pole position for finishing the league stages on top. Manuel Cascallana was delighted with the win and voiced his pleasure at going above FC Goa in the league table. He said, “This is a very good result for us. We’re back in the first position against an opponent which is our rival. We are fighting against them in the position throughout the season and thankfully we’re good in head-to-head as well. So if it’s equal in points at the end of the season, we’ll be in a better position than them. That makes this a happy result.” [KH_ADWORDS type="4" align="center"][/KH_ADWORDS] The ATK assistant coach also stated that he received help from the stands and how that affected the result. He said, “Of course, we got help from him. But we gave each other strength. He’s the leader but we’re a collective unit. It’s not going to be different with the training staff. Today was my turn and Habas will be back against NorthEast so we’ll be better on that day.” Jobby Justin put in a hard-working shift and Manuel Cascallana was impressed with his work in nullifying their threat through the wings. “Jobby is a really good player. He’s growing day by day. Today we played with two inside midfielders with Javi on the right and Jobby on the left. They couldn’t attack through the wings and I think Jobby helped in that aspect.” The former West Ham United U-16 assistant coach insisted that ATK didn’t go with the same game plan as they did against Kerala Blasters, explaining what changed to effect the result. “It wasn’t the same game plan. Against Kerala we played a different formation and today we only played Roy as a striker and  Javi as a right-winger of sorts. We knew that Goa loves playing with the ball so we needed to press them. We had three strikers to press them and cause the problems hence affecting the result." He also gave an excerpt to what he told the players at half-time, hence inspiring that showing in the second half. Manuel Cascallana stated, "We were talking about how we needed to press high. We saw it in Goa that we were defending in our box and that was horrible." “So we needed to change that and we knew that we needed to attack their centre-backs. We capitalized on their wing problems and attacked through that. That worked to our advantage," he further added. He said, “It’s still too soon to know that. Roy was a little bit tired. We wanted to press high and not go back. So we took him off." "We tried not to commit the same mistakes so we took him off to get some rest. David could be back against NorthEast for 15-20 minutes and we prefer to have him back on the bench at least," concluded Manuel Cascallana.
