The hosts pulled off an emphatic victory against the Men of Steel courtesy to their in-form Indian players.

ATK leaped over Jamshedpur FC to the top of the Indian Super League (ISL) table with a compelling 3-1 win at a rain-soaked Salt Lake Stadium, Kolkata. A brace of penalties from Roy Krishna and an added-time strike from Edu Garcia sealed the deal for ATK. While Sergio Castel pulled one back from the spot for the visitors, who suffered their first loss of the season. WATCH: Match Highlights - ATK 3-1 Jamshedpur FC

ATK

Arindam Bhattacharya- 6.0 Arindam didn’t really have much to do initially. But, he made a few solid stops whenever required. Yet, he couldn’t do much about Castel’s penalty. The ATK #1 also made a clever footed clearance in the intense late moments to deny Jamshedpur a sniff at goal. Prabir Das- 7.0 Das continued his heroics on the right-hand side, troubling Jamshedpur with his sparky movement and delivery. Crossed in a blistering ball in the first half, which didn’t meet David Williams’ head properly. While persistently marching forward, he was solid with his defensive contributions too. The full-back made five clearances and four tackles, as he ousted every attack Jamshedpur tried through his wing in the second half. [KH_ADWORDS type="3" align="center"][/KH_ADWORDS] Pritam Kotal- 7.0 Kotal didn’t have the easiest of nights in the rainy conditions and against a dangerous Castel. However, he didn’t lose his concentration and kept the visitors nullified. He also made seven clearances and two interceptions to extinguish their fire. Was booked for a foolish challenge in the first half. Otherwise, the India international showcased his experience with another solid performance. Anas Edathodika- 6.5 Anas maintained his extreme composure in the heart of the defence, making timely challenges and distributing the ball forward really well. Even though he stumbled against pace occasionally, the experienced centre-back was at the right place at the right time on many occasions. He made 11 clearances, two interceptions in a solid defensive showing. Michael Soosairaj- 7.0 Soosairaj was an absolute livewire against his former side. His link-up play with the attackers was excellent, while he also sent in some inviting crosses. His elegant dribbling caused Jamshedpur many problems. He almost got an assist in the 22nd minute after gliding his way into the box, only to shoot straight at Subrata. Soosairaj brought that “wow-factor” to excite fans at the Salt Lake, proving his unbridled attacking talent again. He worked hard defensively as well. Jayesh Rane- 6.5 Rane had an exhausting night upfront with the creative Piti to contain, but held his nerve against tricky opposition. He again showcased prime energy by pressing the Men of Steel persistently, while making four important tackles too. His 79% passing accuracy validates his solid link-up play. He also showed his striking genes when he whiskered past Jamshedpur’s midfielders, before attempting a booming shot. Unfortunately, it went just wide.

Substitutes

Pronay Halder- 6.0 Halder came on after the hour mark and helped ATK see through the result without any issues. Jobby Justin- N/A Making his ISL debut, Justin was forced to play a more withdrawn role on the right wing.

Jamshedpur FC

Subrata Paul- 5.0 Paul was shaky with his distribution, almost being caught out by Williams early on. Tried to distract Krishna during the penalties, but the attacker slotted both of them past him. Garcia dinking over him in added-time summed up a disappointing show in the rain for the experienced goalkeeper. Robin Gurung- 4.5 Gurung had a nightmare against Soosairaj, failing to keep him neutralized on the wing. The Jamshedpur full-back couldn’t zoom forward with defensive responsibilities in mind and struggled to track ATK's swift movement. Things only got worse for him later on, as he conceded the second penalty with a sloppy challenge. He was caught wrong-footed for the third goal too. Added no attacking vibe in a dismal showing. Keegan Pereira- 5.5 Keegan picked up an unnecessary early yellow card and that clearly affected his performance. He couldn’t lodge in challenges afterwards and was harried by Das’ unpredictability. Keegan struggled to stop his crosses, but did well to snuff out attacks with seven clearances. Was uninspiring on the attacking front. Mobashir Rahman- 5.5 The young midfielder was a calm figure, lodging the ball forward for his side pretty well, initially. But, he fell off once ATK’s pressure mounted. He failed to stop their attacking transitions, succeeding only twice in seven attempted tackles. Isaac Vanmalsawma- 4.5 Isaac was rarely found in the final third, as he played deeper than usual, helping his left-back. Barely created anything in the first half, but did well defensively with three clearances and two interceptions. Despite his defensive strengths, he couldn’t create anything definitive going forward and failed to do what he was required to. [KH_RELATED_NEWS title="Related News | Article Continues Below"][/KH_RELATED_NEWS] Farukh Choudhary- 6.0 The in-form striker maintained his menacing presence in the final third. Farukh had a glorious chance to open the scoring in the 8th minute, but his powerful header unluckily struck the post. He tried to force chances by winning possession and moving forward with vigor, but was frustrated by the lack of support. Was booked for a sloppy challenge in the first half. The industrious forward tried his best to snatch a point. But, his attempts were either deflected wide or went over in a frustrating showing.

Substitutes

Aniket Jadhav- 5.5 Jadhav tried doing something after coming on, but the exhausting conditions didn’t help his cause. Bikash Jairu- N/A Brought on for his crossing ability, but couldn’t make a proper delivery in the little time he was on.
