Delhi Dynamos rope in former Barcelona 'B' midfielder Diawandou Diagne

The 24-year-old has made two international appearances for Senegal.
Delhi Dynamos FC has bolstered its defense by signing 24-year-old Senegalese defensive midfielder Diawandou Diagne. Diagne, a former Barcelona B player, is an Aspire Academy product. He joined the Doha based academy aged 13 in 2008, and was one of three Senegalease player to join the prestigious youth set up.
The 5 ft 9 inches midfielder then joined Belgian second division club Eupen. Diagne’s big break came in 2014 when signed a three-year deal with FC Barcelona B. He made 27 appearances for the team before being loaned to Eupen again in 2015.
He made a permanent transfer to the Belgium club in 2017 and since then have played 65 matches and scored one goal for them.
He has also had two senior team appearances for his country, Senegal apart from representing the country in the U-17 and U-20 categories.
Elated to join Delhi Dynamos FC, Diagne said, “I am really looking forward to this new challenge and am very happy to be in India, with the Dynamos,”

“I am very happy to have a player like Diawandou, who is very versatile. He comes from a very good background, starting for Aspire, Eupen and Barcelona B. He has played plenty of games and is a very experienced player even though he is just 24. He is a player who can bring to us a lot,” said the head coach of the team Josep Gombau.
