The Gaurs have decided to sever ties with the Spanish tactician after a three-year association.
In a shocking turn of events, sources have confirmed to Khel Now that FC Goa have parted ways with head coach Sergio Lobera. The tactician was in his third season at the club, with the side involved in a three-way battle for the top position in the Indian Super League. Sources close to the development have confirmed that the manager was served a termination notice by the club. While footballing matters and performances on the field remained on the up, differences with the club's hierarchy are understood to be the reason for his dismissal. The Gaurs' head of youth development Derrick Pereira has taken charge of the coaching staff on an interim basis. Therefore, the timing of the sacking may not sit well with loyal supporters of the club. This could also send their current campaign into a state of flux and cause ramifications on the field.
