Several Gaurs had a disappointing outing against the Men of Steel on the night.

High-flying FC Goa and Jamshedpur FC played out a tight and feisty encounter at the Fatorda Stadium in Goa, which was won 0-1 thanks to a first half strike from Sergio Castel. The Men Of Steel opened the scoring following some excellent play from Farukh Choudhary down the left flank. After that though, it was just wave after wave of Goa attacks. Despite the shifting tide, the visitors were able to see out the 0-1 win that took them up to second place in the table. FC Goa

Mohammad Nawaz- 7.0 The Goa shot-stopper was in fine form between the sticks tonight, as he kept multiple Jamshedpur FC attacks out. Was helpless with regard to the goal he conceded. [KH_ADWORDS type="3" align="center"][/KH_ADWORDS] Seriton Fernandes- 5.5 Although, the full-back tried to make his way forward at every opportunity he received, he wasn’t able to create the penetration that was required on the night. Made a superb interception to deny Farukh a clear goalscoring chance. Mandar Rao Desai- 5.5 Like his defensive partner, Mandar wasn’t able to create enough going forward and was overrun by Farukh for the Jamshedpur opener. Needs to improve his general positioning. Jackichand Singh- 6.0 The speedster made multiple optimistic driving runs on the flanks, but his final delivery was lacking on each occasion. Wasted a couple of good opportunities to equalize as well. Lenny Rodrigues- 5.5 The midfielder didn’t have his usual impact in the middle of the park, despite the Goan’s domination of possession. Gave the ball away cheaply at times. Brandon Fernandes- 6.5 The midfielder showcased some excellent football over the course of the night and further highlighted why he should be a regular starter for India. Manvir Singh- 4.5 The youngster, who was chosen ahead of the injured Ferran Corominas, didn’t have any impact for most of the match, as he was forced to drop deep or go wide to even get a touch of the ball.

Substitutes

Saviour Gama- 5.0 The Goa youth product didn’t have the impact he would’ve been hoping for, as his side pushed for the equalizer against Jamshedpur. Princeton Rebello- 5.0 The local boy was thrown on in an attempt to swing the game in Goa’s favour, but it didn’t go quite as per plan. Liston Colaco- N/A Came on as a stoppage time substitute for Edu Bedia.

Jamshedpur FC

Subrata Paul- 6.0 The Indian custodian collected well from set-pieces and was rather assured with his distribution as well. Had a horror moment where he almost gifted the Goans an equalizer. Robin Gurung- 7.5 Possibly the best player on the night, the full-back put in a monstrous defensive shift, neutralizing the constant threat posed by Brandon Fernandes’ quality. Narender Gahlot- 7.5 Gahlot probably had the hardest job of all the players, having had to defend against Jackichand Singh all night. He was a perpetual rock who just wouldn’t cave. Jitendra Singh- 6.5 Maintained the ball well in the middle of the park in the first half and did his defensive duties satisfactorily once FC Goa’s attacking onslaught began in the second. Farukh Choudhary- 7.0 Played a sensational pass to Sergio Castel in the first half, to help the Spaniard open the scoring. He was a willing runner on the counter and complemented his attacking partner. CK Vineeth- 6.5 Despite producing some excellent passes and movements in the first half, the Kerala native diminished to the periphery of the match in the second half and was rightly substituted. Substitutes

Mobashir Rahman- 6.0 Did well trying to maintain possession in the latter stages of the game and worked hard in defence as well. Sumeet Passi- 5.5 Came on as the game began to shift in Goa’s favour, but didn’t have too much of an influence in the latter stages. Joyner Lourenco- N/A Came on too late to make any sort of impact.
