The Spaniard didn't look too disappointed even after his side succumbed to a loss at home.
FC Goa suffered their first defeat of the ISL this season, at the hands of Jamshedpur FC, who were smart in their approach to the game. However, Goa head coach Sergio Lobera was proud of his side’s valiant efforts. Sergio Castel struck in the 17th minute of this closely-contested match to put his side into the lead. The on-loan Atletico Madrid striker’s fourth goal this campaign proved decisive. Subsequently, Goa were reduced to 10 men and Jamshedpur dropped the tempo to see out the match. In the post-match press conference, Sergio Lobera avoided commenting on the controvery and instead, chose to speak about his impression of the team in the game. “We have done everything we could. Next match, we will do everything we can and if this is not enough to win the match, I can tell you that I’m very proud of my players. I think this is the situation. My opinion is, we have done everything we could.” Ahmed Jahouh was sent off in the 72nd minute and will miss the next match against Kerala Blasters. Hugo Boumous and Seiminlen Doungel will also not be a part of the squad for the next game because of disciplinary actions and suddenly, it seems that Goa are suffering from a lack of personnel. “I, as a coach, can only speak for the players who played and not for the players who did not play. You know the situation, it’s not easy for us. Next match will not be easy for us, but I prefer to speak about the players that played the match.” Speaking about goal-line technology and whether it should be made available, the Spaniard said, “I think we can improve in many things and not just the technology. It’s also important to improve on the other things, the smaller details.” FC Goa are going into the next match against Kerala with many injuries and suspensions in their squad. When asked about his approach, Lobera made it clear that he’ll have to make do with the resources currently at his disposal. It does not make sense to speak about what I would like, I can only speak about the situation. We have three-four days to prepare for the next match and to play against a good team.” Sergio Lobera also revealed that Ferran Corominas’ injury is not that serious and he would probably be available for the next game.Latest News
