The Nizams were forced to share the points after conceding an injury-time goal to the Men of Steel.
Hyderabad FC conceded late to settle for a point in a 1-1 draw with Jamshedpur FC at the G.M.C. Balayogi Athletic Stadium in Hyderabad on Thursday. The club took the lead via Nestor Benitez late in the first half, and it seemed enough to earn them just their second win of the Indian Super League 2019-20. However, a lapse in concentration at the back allowed the visitors to equalise and share the points, much to the disappointment of the home fans. [KH_ADWORDS type="4" align="center"][/KH_ADWORDS] Speaking in an exclusive post-match interview, Hyderabad’s interim head coach Javier Lopez shared his disappointment at the result and stated, “I think this is the history of our season. Always something happens in the last minute. Today, I am really disappointed. I think we deserved to win that game. We had been better than Jamshedpur, especially in the first half. We played attacking football and hit the post once. We had chances from set-pieces as well. I don’t remember any clear chance Jamshedpur had.” “In the second half maybe, they tried to attack more, but we controlled it. I am really disappointed, especially because we were practising set-pieces for more than 45 minutes on Wednesday. That goal in the 94th minute is not possible in a professional team,” Javier Lopez added. Looking ahead to Hyderabad’s last match of the season, the Spaniard said, “For us, the last game is the last game. We have the chance to give our team and our supporters one more victory before the season finishes. We will travel to NorthEast (United FC) with that intention. We are only thinking about getting that last victory of the season. After that, we will be focusing more on the next season and building a new team.” [KH_RELATED_NEWS title="Related News | ARTICLE CONTINUES BELOW"][/KH_RELATED_NEWS] The Hyderabad interim head coach also revealed the areas his team will be working on ahead of their final game of the season. “During the next week, we will work on similar things. To work as a team in attack and defence. I think today we were a compact team. We didn’t receive chances. We were attacking and defending together. But when you are in the last position on the table, it is because something wrong happens in your game. We need to be positive for the next game,” concluded Javier Lopez.Latest News
