The season might have just come to an end but the Men of Steel are already preparing for the next campaign.
Despite narrowly missing out on the playoffs in the Indian Super League (ISL) once again last season, Jamshedpur FC’s hunger for development never stops. The Men of Steel are looking to shuffle their pack for the next campaign and are heavily active in the transfer market aiming to get some deals done.
They’re aiming to steal the thunder in the transfer market yet again this season and are in talks with FC Goa’s star striker Ferran Corominas to lead their line. As a matter of fact, the deal is very close to being finalized, a source close to the developments has confirmed to Khel Now. The Spanish striker is not happy with the extension talks at Goa and his representative had initiated talks with the Men of Steel.
After Tim Cahill’s departure, the Men of Steel are aiming to replace the Australian legend with an ISL legend himself. Corominas, who’s become the all-time highest goalscorer in the league with 34 goals in two glittering seasons with the Gaurs, is looking for a new challenge after missing out on the trophy.
However, if Jamshedpur cannot agree on a deal for Corominas, they will go after Chennai City’s star striker Pedro Manzi instead. The I-League champions' captain was prolific in his debut season in Indian football, scoring 21 goals in 18 games and ending the campaign as joint top-scorer in the I-League.
The Men of Steel have been impressed with his heroics in the league and Super Cup and are willing to sign him. That being said, Manzi recently signed an exclusive 3-year contract with Chennai City and the ISL outfit will have to pay a hefty transfer fee for his services.

On the other hand, Jamshedpur’s quest for bolstering their domestic talent moves on, as they’re also interested in signing Edwin Sydney Vanspaul. The midfielder who was proficient in Chennai City’s amazing I-League title win, has several offers which he is considering, Khel Now has learnt.
[KH_RELATED_NEWS title="Related News"][/KH_RELATED_NEWS]The right-back’s future at the I-League champions is in doubt, as he’s currently hot property in the transfer market. He has offers from teams in both the I-league and the ISL, but Jamshedpur are lead the race for the versatile midfielder after offering him attractive terms.
Despite the season only getting over last week, Jamshedpur are taking no chances with transfer dealings and want their business done pretty early. In an attempt to make their squad championship worthy next season, they want to bring in the big guns in Corominas or Manzi as well as adding versatility in Vanspaul. It could end up being an exciting summer for the Men of Steel, as they aim to make a big statement with their transfer business.
