Poor defending from the hosts saw Bartholomew Ogbeche's hat-trick go to waste.
Goals galore at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi, as Chennaiyin FC beat rivals Kerala Blasters 3-6. The visitors took a three-goal lead into half-time, but the Yellow Army, led by skipper Bartholomew Ogbeche, made a stunning comeback. The Nigerian scored a second half hat-trick. However, braces from Rafael Crivellaro, Nerijus Valskis and Lallianzuala Chhangte gave the Marina Machans the win. [KH_ADWORDS type="3" align="center"][/KH_ADWORDS] Here are the Indian player ratings from the match:Kerala Blasters
TP Rehenesh- 3.0 Was sharp to come off his line and clear the ball in the box, before Lallianzuala Chhangte could get a shot on target. Made a blunder, passing the ball straight to Rafael Crivellaro, who easily opened the scoring in the first half. While Raju Gaikwad was mostly at fault for Chhangte's goal, he could have done better with his positioning and awareness. Made a decent save to stop Crivellaro from scoring a hat-trick. Mohammad Rakip- 3.0 Tasked with defending against a pacy Chhangte and struggled at times. Was partly at fault for the Indian winger's first goal. Eventually subbed off for Sahal Abdul Samad in the second half. Not a performance he can be happy with. Raju Gaikwad- 3.0 Was shown the yellow card for a first half foul on Chhangte, who he very much struggled against. Made a similar mistake to that of Rehenesh, giving away the ball to Nerijus Valskis, who setup Chhangte's goal in the second half. Jessel Carneiro- 5.0 Another Blasters game, another typical Jessel Carneiro performance. Present in defence, present in attack. Played an inch-perfect cross to assist Ogbeche's goal early in the second half. Jeakson Singh- 4.0 Often solid with his tackles, was danced past by Rafael Crivellaro once in the first half, before Gianni Zuiverloon stopped him in his tracks. Yet, Chhangte ran past him easily and went on to score his brace. Usually assured in midfield, this was certainly a night to forget for Jeakson. [KH_ADWORDS type="4" align="center"][/KH_ADWORDS] Holicharan Narzary- 5.0 Gave away the ball easily, setting up the visitors to score their third goal and Crivellaro his second. However, Narzary redeemed himself by delivering a good cross into the box, to assist Ogbeche's hat-trick. Seityasen Singh- 4.5 Played a great cross into the box and almost found Raphael Messi Bouli, who felt he was fouled by Jerry Lalrinzuala. Was ineffective in attack for the hosts otherwise.Substitutes
Sahal Abdul Samad- 5.0 Was largely quiet during his time on the pitch, but always showed quality when he had the ball at his feet. Samuel Lalmuanpuia- N/A Came on late in the game and had little time to make an impact. Mohammed Rafi- N/A Came on late in the game and had little to no time to make an impact.Chennaiyin FC
Vishal Kaith- 3.0 Blasters had four shots on target in the game and he conceded from three of them. The goalkeeper was not particularly at fault for any of them, but there was nothing exceptional from him either. Laldinliana Renthlei- 4.0 Mostly an assured performance from the young right-back, who was tasked with defending against Holicharan Narzary. However, two of Kerala Blasters' goals came from his side and that is not good news for a full-back. Jerry Lalrinzuala- 5.0 Was fortunate to get away without conceding a penalty after pulling Messi Bouli down in the box in the first half. Did not have much of a threat from Seityasen Singh or Rakip on his wing and hence, wasn't asked questions defensively. [KH_ADWORDS type="2" align="center"][/KH_ADWORDS] Edwin Sydney Vanspaul- 4.5 The workhorse in midfield for Chennaiyin FC against Kerala Blasters. The 27-year-old's confidence was evident from how he started celebrating even before Crivellaro had taken his shot to score the opener. While he covered a lot of distance, he had a rather quiet night otherwise. Was replaced by Thoi Singh. Anirudh Thapa- 7.0 Pulled the strings for the visitors from midfield and setup Crivallero's second goal late in the second half with a good through pass. Booked for a foul on Messi Bouli in the second half. Lallianzuala Chhangte- 9.0 Caused trouble for Rakip and Raju with his pace on the left-hand side. Showed good composure to score his first goal. Scored his second of the night with a shot from outside the box after dribbling past Jeakson. [KH_RELATED_NEWS title="Related News | Article Continues Below"][/KH_RELATED_NEWS]Substitutes
