With the addition of the custodian the souherners have signed their fourth goalkeeper this summer.

Kochi-based Indian Super League (ISL) side Kerala Blasters have struck a deal to sign local custodian Shibinraj Kunniyil from Gokulam Kerala. Kunniyil, was the first-choice goalkeeper for the Malabarians in the recently concluded I-League campaign. However, the Kerala side had a disappointing outing last season and the shot-stopper's performances weren’t that great either. He started 10 games for Gokulam last campaign.

Shibinraj burst onto the scene very late, after plying his trade in the Kerala Premier League and the Calcutta Football League. The 26-year-old has featured for Mohun Bagan in the 2016-17 AFC Cup campaign, against Maldivian outfit Maziya S&RC, where they went down by a goal.

Kerala Blasters are going through a re-building phase after a disappointing outing last season. The Blasters have roped in former East Bengal coach Eelco Schatorrie into their ranks at the start of the summer and have been given a huge purse by the management. Their latest goalkeeper is their ninth signing for the ISL team.

Apart from him, the team from South India have also signed Bilal Khan from Real Kashmir, Lovepreet Singh from Indian Arrows, Lalthuamawia Ralte from Bengaluru, Bartholomew Ogbeche from NorthEast United, Mario Arques and Sergio Cidoncha from Jamshedpur FC, Dutch centre-back Gianni Zuiverloon from Delhi Dynamos and a Calicut-born prodigy Zayed Bin Waleed

Howevever, with four custodians to choose from, it remains to seen as to who’ll be the #1 shot-stopper for the team in the upcoming season.
