The 30-year-old mutually agreed to end his contract with FC Goa earlier in September.

Former FC Goa veteran goalkeeper Laxmikant Kattimani is set to join new Indian Super League (ISL) entrants Hyderabad FC ahead of the upcoming season, Khel Now can confirm.

The 30-year old custodian, mutually agreed with his former club FC Goa earlier this month, to terminate his contract and now he is headed to join Hyderabad for the new campaign.

Kattimani is a vastly experienced goalkeeper, having made 39 appearances for the Gaurs over five season and he was also the part of the team which played the 2015 Indian Super League final against Chennaiyin FC and sadly ended on the losing side.

The 30-year-old keeper has plied his trade for clubs like Vasco SC, Mumbai FC and Dempo SC and is regarded as one of the highly-rated Indian goalkeepers playing at the top level in the country. He was an integral part of Dempo's I-League winning squad in the 2009-10 season and repeated the feat in 2011-12.

With only Kamaljit Singh in their ranks till now, Kattimani's vast experience offers more competition for the goalkeeper's spot at the new ISL outfit, from the city of Nizams. He may not be at his best currently, but still will be crucial for Phil Brown's side.

Kattimani has also led clubs in the past and his leaderships skills can come in handy for his new side. Indeed, he was captain of Goa until Sergio Lobera opted for Mandar Rao Dessai. The 30-year old had a major dip in form, which allowed goalkeepers like Mohammad Nawaz, Naveen Kumar and Lalthuammawia Ralte to go ahead of him in the pecking order.
