The Bengaluru FC head coach also revealed that the Blues will be trying to score first in the game against the Islanders.
Bengaluru FC are set to face Mumbai City FC at the Mumbai Football Arena on January 17 in their next game in the league. Ahead of the game, head coach Carles Cuadrat and player Suresh Singh Wangjam interacted with the media in the pre-match press conference on Wednesday.
Carles Cuadrat was quizzed regarding the Blues' preparations for the upcoming match and how they would look to work on their winning momentum. “Yes, we are working well. We have also received the new player, (Dashorn) Brown and everyone is fit and ready for the game,” he began.
The tactician provided an update on his side's new signing Deshorn Brown, “He has played his last game one month ago, so he needs time. But, he will be travelling to Mumbai with us.”
[KH_ADWORDS type="3" align="center"][/KH_ADWORDS]The Islanders defeated Bengaluru FC in the first encounter between both these teams this season. Speaking about that,Carles Cuadrat stated, “Yes, we know that it is a team that is always making things difficult for us. The reason is that they are a very counter-attack team, they don’t want to have the ball. They try to be very offensive and they try to play the long ball to get over the defender’s back and we know that. Normally, in those kind of games, you have to try to be the first one to score because otherwise things are more easy for them."
“Because what happens here at home; we created two chances in the first 10 minutes, then they scored first and because they score first it was a very easy game for them. So, we will try to avoid that and we will try to be the first one to score in the game,” Carles Cuadrat added.
Suresh Singh Wangjam
Suresh Singh Wangjam was asked about how he felt after getting some regular chances, despite playing only a few minutes for the senior team. The 19-year-old said, “For me, five minutes is very important. For me, the most important is to help the team because they are suffering for 90 minutes and I am coming fresh."
“That’s the first priority for me once I enter the game,” he added.
