The Croat admitted that his side are doing everything but scoring goals.
NorthEast United FC’s miserable season continued with yet another loss, this time to Mumbai City FC at the Mumbai Football Arena on Friday evening. After the match, the Highlanders’ head coach Robert Jarni spoke to the media at the customary post-match press conference. NorthEast United have the worst scoring record in the league this season, with a dismal nine goals from 13 games and have gone through their fourth straight game without scoring. Asked what his thoughts were on his side again not finding the net, Robert Jarni said, “This is the third or fourth game where we haven’t scored and we are always conceding because of our mistakes.” [KH_ADWORDS type="4" align="center"][/KH_ADWORDS] “We played the first half well and also the first 15 minutes of the second half. But, after that we became impatient and couldn’t force any turnaround. We had 2-3 chances in the first half and then we had to pay for that eventually by losing the game," he added. On being asked what would he count as positives from another damaging result, the Croat said, “It is disappointing because we could have capitalized on our first half chances and the result could have been different.” Robert Jarni went on, “One good thing is that our two young players Ninthoi and Lalengmawia played very well. We have a good reason now to count on them in the future. They need to keep working hard like they have been doing till now.” "Another positive was that (Federico) Gallego played the full 90 minutes for the first time after his terrible injury. The new foreign recruits, they are trying hard, but they will need some time to come good in the league.” [KH_RELATED_NEWS title="Related News | Article Continues Below"][/KH_RELATED_NEWS] NorthEast United sit second from bottom in the league after 13 games, with only 11 points. Their playoffs chances are all but over. The coach was further asked what would be the approach of his side for the remaining games. “Nothing much can be done now to be honest." "I would want the players to play with the right aggression and with all their heart. To be fair the boys are doing all the right things except scoring," concluded Robert Jarni.Latest News
