The Croatian head coach has been sacked immediately after the loss.
It was a breathless ending to the game between NorthEast United FC and Jamshedpur FC at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium on Mnday evening. The last 13 minutes yielded four goals, as both teams clung on for a point apiece. Former head coach Robert Jarni was in attendance at the post-match press conference where he interacted with the media. Interestingly, the conference turned out to be the Croatian's last for the Highlanders, as he was sacked soon thereafter. [KH_ADWORDS type="4" align="center"][/KH_ADWORDS] After going goalless for five games, the goals finally arrived for the Highlanders and the performance too was in contrast to the dour displays of late. “Our team played really good and I am pleased with the performance. We must be happy with one point, but with the chances we had we must have won," said Robert Jarni. He went on to add, “On one hand I am a bit sad, but I must say that we were lucky too. It’s great that our players sowed that they can play really good and that bodes well for this squad’s future.” The home side’s players looked hungrier than in recent games. On being asked what the message was in the dressing room, the coach said, “The last game that we played wasn’t very good, we didn’t play to our capabilities. I didn’t really do anything different for the game. We know that the season is over for us, I just asked the players to play for our pride.” [KH_RELATED_NEWS title="Related News | Article Continues Below"][/KH_RELATED_NEWS] The home side’s goalkeeper Subhasish Roy Chowdhury's heroics between the sticks went a great way in securing a point from the game. Speaking about the No. 1’s contribution, Robert Jarni said, “Subhasish has been great throughout the season. I think for the saves made he will figure somewhere at the top of the league. I am very pleased with him and it was a superb performance.”Where passion meets insight — blending breaking news, in-depth strategic analysis, viral moments, and jaw-dropping plays into powerful sports content designed to entertain, inform, and keep you connected to your favorite teams and athletes.
