There were several disappointing performances on the night especially from the home side.
Carles Cuadrat’s Bengaluru FC side picked up their first three points away from home by beating Indian Super League newcomers Odisha FC by a 1-0 scoreline. A lone goal from Juanan Gonzalez was enough to separate the two teams on the night, with Gurpreet Singh Sandhu contributing towards the cause as well. The keeper almost carried the Blues to the three points on the night and the manager will be thankful for the presence he has between the sticks. Arshdeep Singh 5 The youngster had to do a better job trying to stop the lone Bengaluru strike on the night. He was caught ball-watching, as it trickled into the net off a Juanan strike. Shubham Sarangi- 5.5 The Odisha full-back was given an extremely hard time by the Bengaluru attackers, as he was constantly being overrun and passed around. Came back stronger in the second half though. Narayan Das- 5.5 Like his compatriot on the other flank, Das was given a wretched time by Harmanjot Khabra, while running forward in the first half and didn’t have too much influence going forward either. Vinit Rai- 6.0 The midfielder was being surpassed time and again by the sheer industry that was being displayed by the Bengaluru midfield. Tried to make things happen in the second half, but to no avail. Jerry Mawihmingthanga- 6.5 Quite possibly Odisha’s best player on the pitch, the winger delivered some deadly crosses into the box, but was unable to find an opening. Showed his pace and energy on multiple occasions. Nandhakumar- 6.5 Like Jerry, the attacker tried to impact the game in any way possible in the first half. He took a good shot on from distance, but it was parried comfortably by Gurpreet away from the Blues’ goal.Substitutes

Gurpreet Singh Sandhu- 9.0 The Indian shot-stopper proved once again why he is first-choice for the national team, by putting up an exhilarating display in goal. He single-handedly earned the Blues three point on the night. Harmanjot Khabra- 7.5 The versatile defender was in fine form over the course of the first half, as he ran riot on the right flank. Played some excellent passes from midfield and kept things moving as well. Nishu Kumar- 6.5 The left-back tried really hard to come into the game in the first half, but found it hard due to some unfortunate touches. He did well in the defensive third during the latter stages of the game though. Udanta Singh- 6.0 The speedster was wasteful with the ball at his feet on the night, despite being played in on multiple occasions. His final delivery into the box was pathetic on certain occasions. Ashique Kuruniyan- 7.0 The youngster showed some excellent touches to keep control of the ball in the first half and then worked hard in defence to ensure that Bengaluru took home all three points. Sunil Chhetri- 6.5 The Indian skipper worked supremely hard off the ball on the night, but didn’t have too much go his way.
