The Kalinga Warriors are now fifth on the league table just a point shy off the playoffs spots.

Owen Coyle’s Chennaiyin FC suffered another setback to their Indian Super League campaign, as they lost 2-0 against Odisha FC. The home side were in the ascendancy right from the opening minutes of the tie and the Marina Machans were never really able to lay a glove on the Odisha defence. Although, they were awarded a rather soft penalty in the match as well, the away team were unable to convert from the spot. Here are the player ratings from Odisha FC 2-0 Chennaiyin FC: [KH_ADWORDS type="3" align="center"][/KH_ADWORDS]

Odisha FC

Shubham Sarangi- 7.0

Defended strongly and commanded the backline well over the course of the 90 minutes, but gave away the penalty that could’ve come back to haunt Odisha. [embed]https://youtu.be/h3Is3GvkNUA[/embed]

WATCH: Match Highlights - Odisha FC 2-0 Chennaiyin FC

Gaurav Bora- 7.0

Stood strong at the centre of defence and was a good partner for Delgado on the night. Made a couple of good tackles and worked extremely hard tracking back in the later stages.

Narayan Das- 7.0

The full-back, like the rest of the Odisha backline, worked extremely hard off the ball and put in multiple key blocks as well. He didn’t allow too much space down the flank.

Vinit Rai- 8.0

The midfielder was in complete control of the game in the first half and even managed to score an absolute belter of a goal. Moved the ball well and played some neat passes. [KH_ADWORDS type="1" align="center"][/KH_ADWORDS]

Jerry Mawihmingthanga- 7.5

The speedster was subbed off late on, but caused the Chennaiyin full-backs a lot of trouble in the early stages. Did well to take his goal in the first half and open the scoring.

Nanda Kumar- 6.5

The winger had multiple good opportunities to pick up a goal for his efforts, but sent his chances wide. Made a couple of decent runs, but lacked the final product.

Substitutes

Bikramjit Singh- 6.0

Came on and steadied the ship in the later stages with his passing and movement in the middle of the park.

Daniel Lalhlimpuia- N/A

Didn’t have time to make an impact. [KH_RELATED_NEWS title="Related News | Odisha FC 2-0 Chennaiyin FC | ARTICLE CONTINUES BELOW"][/KH_RELATED_NEWS]

Chennaiyin FC

Vishal Kaith- 6.0

The Chennaiyin FC shot-stopper couldn’t have done too much about either of the Odisha goals, but looked decent apart from those isolated incidents. Distributed the ball quite effectively.

Laldinliana Renthlei- 6.5

Made a couple of excellent surges into the box in the first half and worked hard in defence as well. Should’ve probably held his position a little better in the final stages.

Jerry Lalrinzuala- 6.5

Like his full-back partner, the Indian wasn’t able to have too much of an attacking impact in the Odisha half and was heavily overshadowed by his namesake. [KH_ADWORDS type="4" align="center"][/KH_ADWORDS]

Germanpreet Singh- 6.0

Although, he made a couple of decent passes from the middle of the park, he didn’t have nearly as much impact as he usually does. Could be dropped for the next fixture.

Anirudh Thapa- 6.5

The youngster is seen as one of the shining lights in Indian football, but he didn’t showcase too much talent on the night. Made a couple of loose passes.

Lallianzuala Chhangte- 6.5

Tried to take the Odisha full-backs on in the first half, but didn’t find too much success. Gave the ball away on too many occasions and looked extremely fatigued as well. [KH_ADWORDS type="2" align="center"][/KH_ADWORDS]

Substitutes

Rahim Ali- N/A

Didn’t have time to make an impact.
