The 30-year-old had maintained the second-most number of clean-sheets in the Indian Super League in the previous season.

After his heroic display in the 2019-20 season, goalkeeper Arindam Bhattacharya has penned a new two-year contract with ATK Mohun Bagan, keeping him at the club until the summer of 2022. The custodian kept the second-most number of clean-sheets in the previous campaign, as he led his side to the title.

"Winning the ISL while representing Kolkata was very special," said Arindam Bhattacharya after signing the deal. "Playing for the Mariners this season will be an honour. I have amazing teammates who shield me on the pitch and I too will give my all as we attempt to defender the trophy."

ATK Mohun Bagan announced that Arindam Bhattacharya has extended his contract at the club on Sunday

The 30-year-old produced a string of excellent performances last season, as he maintained a solid 75.71% saves percentage along with keeping nine clean-sheets in 20 games. Of the 70 shots he faced on target he managed to keep out 53!

With him pledging his future to the club, ATK Mohun Bagan's goal seems to be in safe hands. The club are all set to compete in both the Indian Super League as well as the AFC Cup and are ensuring they head into the campaign with a strong squad. They have already retained the core of the team from last season and under Antonio Habas, the Mariners look one of the most feared sides in the league.

Meanwhile, ATK Mohun Bagan have also brought in some promising players to bolster their ranks. Some of their major new signings include Bradden Inman, who comes in with first-hand experience from the A-League, while Manvir Singh, Subhasish Bose and Sk Sahil add to their domestic contingent.
