Prabir Das pens new three-year deal with ATK Mohun Bagan

One of the most exciting players in the Indian Super League (ISL), Prabir Das has signed a new contract with ATK Mohun Bagan. The deal with keep him with the club until 2023.
The news comes days after the club revealed their name, logo and jersey colours ahead of the upcoming season. The merger between the two champions of last season was one of the most talked-about trends in Indian football since a few months.
In a huge relief for the fans of the historic club, their traditional colours, logo and name were maintained, as they make their bow in the top tier next season. That said, tying down an energetic player like Prabir Das to new terms comes as great news for the fans.
"I am very happy to join ATK Mohun Bagan FC. I have received lots of love from both the clubs and I am emotionally connected to both ATK and MB," the player quoted. He went on to express his eagerness to represent the club in the upcoming ISL season as well as in their AFC Cup campaign.
Prabir Das' displays for ATK last season earned him a lot of plaudits from fans as well as coaches. Moreover, he also received a call-up for the national team camp, before the qualifiers were called off due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Das delivered five assists in the 2019-20 campaign, having attempted a massive 66 crosses. Defensively too, the right-back was crucial for the side, as he performed 64 tackles and 85 clearances overall. His presence in the squad will be crucial as the team prepares to go a notch higher in the upcoming term.
The newly-merged entity is expected to announce more signings, dominated by those from the ISL-winning team of last season. With the merger happening, the spirits at the club would be reinvigorated and they will look to take advantage of the situation by setting a benchmark in the coming season.
