Report: Bengaluru FC in talks with former Club Brugge star Victor Vazquez
The 33-year-old recently had his contract with Belgian club KAS Eupen terminated due to personal reasons.
Another La Masia trained Spanish player seems to be on his way to Bengaluru FC. This time it is 33-year-old playmaker of Belgian club KAS Eupen Victor Vazquez. The former Club Brugge midfielder is in talks with the former Indian Super League (ISL) champions, after having rescinded his existing contract with the Belgian club due to personal reasons, L'Avenir have reported.
Eupen brought the Spanish playmaker not long ago and there were lots of expectations from his signing at the Belgian club. However, the transfer never bore fruit, as Victor Vazquez was always denied game-time. He played a total of 15 minutes for the Belgian side in his two months at the club.

Eupen's technical director Jordi Condom wasn't happy with Vazquez's decision. However, the club respected it and has let him leave on his terms. Expressing his remorse on the club's website, the technical director said, "We regret Victor Vazquez's decision. He is an excellent player and he could have helped our team play a strong season. But we still respect his decision to end his contract for personal reasons. We wish Victor the best of luck."
Vazquez learned his trade at the famed La Masia academy of Barcelona. After playing for the club at various youth levels and in the reserves team, he left the Blaugrana to join Club Brugge. He spent four years at the club and scored 15 goals for them. He then went on to play for teams in Mexico, Canada and Qatar.
Victor Vazquez could be the second foreigner to sign for Bengaluru FC this season, after the arrival of Brazilian forward Cleiton Silva. The club's notable acquisitions this season have been defenders Ajith Kumar from Chennai City FC, Pratik Chaudhari from Mumbai City FC and goalkeeper Lalthuammawia Ralte from FC Goa.
