The defender has signed a year long contract with the Southerners.

Kerala Blasters have announced the signing of the promising Indian defender Sandeep Singh, on a one-year contract, for the 7th edition of the Indian Super League (ISL). The 25-year old from Imphal, Manipur started his footballing journey with the Shillong Lajong Academy and was promoted to their senior team in 2014.

Sandeep Singh made his senior team debut against Pune FC, the following year. He then played with Langsning F.C. during the 2017-18 season before joining ATK FC for the 2018-19 ISL season. The right footed defender will be joining Kerala Blasters from I-League outfit TRAU FC, where he made eight appearances during the 2019-20 I-League season.

“I feel super excited to be a part of this prestigious club. I’m eagerly looking forward to meet my new team and work together for the upcoming season. The fans of Kerala Blasters have always shown immense support for the team. I hope to receive the same and excel in our performances to make them proud.”, said a motivated and determined Sandeep Singh on joining Kerala Blasters.

“Sandeep is an experienced player, having played several matches in the I-league. Over the years, he has grown to be a strong and solid defender. It is now time for him to showcase his skills in the ISL with Kerala Blasters. I wish him all the luck and look forward to working with him soon.” said Kerala Blasters assistant coach Ishfaq Ahmed.

Kerala Blasters had conceded the third most goals (32) in the ISL during the 2019-20 season. As former head coach Eelco Schattorie left the club, one of the longest serving players and an influential figure in the dressing room, Sandesh Jhingan followed suit. However, Kerala Blasters have made a number of new signings ahead of the forthcoming season, including India international defender Nishu Kumar from Bengaluru FC. Now, Sandeep Singh look to be a natural replacement for Jhingan at Kerala Blasters, who has still not revealed his destination.
