Alison Kharsyntiew: Will maintain simple approach against Bengaluru FC
The Highlanders are currently at seventh place on the league standings, with 11 points from 10 matches.
NorthEast United will go up against Bengaluru FC at the Tilak Maidan on Tuesday. The game promises to be one of grit and character, as the Highlanders have not won a game in their last six outings. Ahead of the match against the Blues, assistant coach Alison Kharsyntiew and Gurjinder Kumar spoke to the media.
Atmosphere in training
Both teams have shared more or less the same fate lately and will be eager to get back to winning ways in the second half of the league. The team are well aware of Bengaluru’s conditions at the moment, but they are still a dangerous opposition thinks Kharsyntiew. “We know that Bengaluru FC have lost four games in a row, but every game is new.

"So, we have to respect them. Tomorrow, as a team, we have to be prepared and do our best to get the three points. I'm sure our players will give their best effort,” said the Highlanders' assistant coach. Speaking about the atmosphere in the camp, he added, “The mood in the training ground, whatever the outcome of the game may be, we are all professionals and we know our duty.”
Defensive Worries
Focusing on the defensive worries of the team, he further spoke, “In every game there are always some positive things and some negative things, but the main thing is to improve our negatives and try to strengthen our positive points. Our coach has a plan and I'm sure our team will defend well tomorrow.”
Given that Bengaluru can be particularly threatening from various set-piece situations, NorthEast United must rectify their past lapses, On this Alison Kharsyntiew assured, “The coach always has a plan and we are ready for the attacks from set-pieces, from open play; we are ready for every possible attack from them,” he commented.
