NorthEast United sign former Crystal Palace striker Kwesi Appiah

The 30-year-old last played for AFC Wimbledon in the English Championship and scored four times for them in the previous season.
NorthEast United have announced that striker Kwesi Appiah has joined the club ahead of Season 7 of the ISL. Kwesi makes the move having last played for AFC Wimbledon in the English Championship where he scored four times last season.
A product of the Ebsfleet United PASE Youth System, Kwesi Appiah has played for several clubs in England notably Crystal Palace FC, Reading, Cambridge United, AFC Wimbledon amongst others. Kwesi has also featured for the Ghanaian national team with two goals in seven outings for the Black Stars.
Speaking on the signing, NorthEast United’s Executive Director Priya Runchal said; “Kwesi is coming in from the English Championship, which we know as one of the most competitive leagues in the world. He has had memorable stints at various clubs during his career and we are excited about the quality he will bring to the team.”
On his move, Kwesi said; “I am really excited to be a part of this squad and cannot wait to be on the pitch again with my new teammates. I have heard a lot of good things about this league and the team from my fellow compatriots and it is an honour to represent this great region in one of the fastest growing leagues in the world."

NorthEast United have been quite active during the past month in the transfer window. They have already roped in several experienced players including Khassa Camara, Luis Machado, Dylan Fox and Benjamin Lambot. Apart from that, the Highlanders have also signed some renowned Indian players including Ashutosh Mehta, VP Suhair and Rochharzela. It will be interesting to see how the team lines up next season under new head coach Gerard Nus.
