The 34-year-old hasn't had an ideal start to the 2020-21 season.
Eugeneson Lyngdoh has penned a deal with Indian Super League (ISL) side Odisha FC until the end of the season, Khel Now can confirm.
"Eugeneson Lyngdoh has put pen to paper for another Indian Super League outfit Odisha FC. The former India international will be part of the Juggernauts until the end of the 2020-21 season," a source close to the developments informed Khel Now.
The 34-year-old midfielder was recently released by Kolkata giants SC East Bengal after he failed to impress head coach Robbie Fowler, managing only two starts this season. It seems Odisha have been opportunistic in their use of the situation as they have now signed Lyngdoh for the rest of the campaign.

Hailing from Meghalaya, Eugeneson Lyngdoh rose to fame with his prolific performances, while playing for Bengaluru FC in the I-League and FC Pune City in the ISL. In 2018, the central attacking midfielder joined ATK in a record-breaking deal, but fortune didn’t favour the technically-gifted player. Lyngdoh suffered a huge blow, as he picked up an injury during pre-season under Englishman Steve Coppell.
Thereafter, he struggled to grab game-time at the club which gradually led to him making a return to BFC last campaign. But, things once again didn’t work well, as he failed to grab regular caps under Carles Caudrat. This season, Lyngdoh started pretty well in his first few appearances, but an unlucky red card led to him being sent off in the game against Jamshedpur FC.

The game against the Men of Steel turned out to be his last for the Red and Gold, shattering his dream of making a comeback with the Kolkata giants. Now that he has joined Odisha, who are also struggling to climb up the points table, the question remains the same, can Eugeneson Lyngdoh return to his previous best? Only time will tell.
