The SC East Bengal assistant coach was disappointing with the decisions of the match officials.

"Yes, it was tough to concede the goal. It's always bad to concede a goal in the last minute," said SC East Bengal assistant coach Tony Grant after a harsh 1-1 stalemate against Hyderabad FC in the Indian Super League (ISL).

"Officials should practice what they preach"

The coach took a hard dig on the match officials and the opposition coach as he said, "I don't know if it's unlucky. Not getting the penalty is a disgrace. The decisions continue to go against us in every game. We all need to know and learn. The linesman should make his own decisions. The referee was about to blow for a penalty as the linesman said so. It's purely because the coach said 'No' that the latter changed his decision."

"I don't know what goes on. All I know is our manager has been wrongly sent to the stands for four games by the governing officials. So, they should practice what they preach," added Tony Grant.

SCEB is now more of a team

When asked about the current shape of the team's offensive performance, the Englishman said, "We took a lot of time to get in form. But for the last couple of games, we have proved that we have improved. You can see the gradual development. Things do take time. It was a tough season for a debutant club. We are more of a team if you watch us now. We all know Bright (Enobakhare) is a super player and he plays special. The team has really bettered as a whole."

Need to build a team that can grow

Adding to his testimony after the game, Tony Grant quoted, "I think we had to win tonight to keep that dream awake. We need to end the season as a team staying together and working hard. This club has been here for hundred years and needs to stay for more hundred years. So we need to build a team that can grow and this is just the start."

Thoughts on Sourav Das

Lastly, providing an update on Sourav Das' injury, Tony Grant said, "He has got a tight hamstring. The boy has got through a lot of work in the last two games. We are really impressed with him and we will analyze him in the next couple of days."
