High line resulted in goal against us, says East Bengal's Robbie Fowler

The tactician spoke after his team grabbed a point against Kerala Blasters in dramatic fashion.
"We played three tough games in a span of three days and maybe the tight schedule left an effect on today’s game,” said SC East Bengal head coach Robbie Fowler, as his team gained a well-fought stalemate against Kerala Blasters in the Indian Super League on Friday.
Signs of better display
“In terms of performance, the lads showed a good positive display as they came away with one point from their jaws of defeat. It’s a good symptom of the game that we are trying to play,” said Fowler, as East Bengal bagged a last-minute draw with defender Scott Neville scoring a headed goal.
Kerala Blasters Incredibly difficult
The Englishman thinks the game didn’t go as per plan, as he said, “it’s not ideal and is not what we planned to have played. We couldn’t get the right result.” He further added, “Sometimes, your opposition makes an incredibly difficult approach. It was tough, as we got there at the end and that’s what cost us the points.”
Tactical lapse cost goal
Quizzed about the goal conceded, the tactician agreed that the high line they held cost his team. He said, “We were maintaining a high line from the very first minute, as I told my wing-backs to put a bit of pressure on them.
"So, when the ball came back into our box we should have defended better. It was a long ball over the top and maybe the goalkeeper’s starting point was not quite good.”
Resilient draw
Though it was just a point gained, Fowler is happy with his team’s resilient mentality. As he stated, “The lads conceded a goal and they again gave a tight fight bringing home one point, so its fair enough,” Robbie Fowler signed off.
