The Englishman spoke ahead of his side's clash against the Highlanders on Tuesday.
"Obviously, the derby gave a tough result for us. I think motivation will not be a problem. We have got a big squad and the players love training together," said SC East Bengal assistant coach Tony Grant in the pre-match press conference ahead of their clash against NorthEast United FC in the Indian Super League (ISL).
East Bengal will keep working
Quizzed about his plans ahead of the final two matches of the season, the Englishman said, "We will keep working on different parts of our games till everyone betters to a level. We are improving everyday and hopefully, we will do better this time."
'Eyeing next season is what every club does'
Asked whether he will be eying the next season in the last couple of matches. Tony Grant said, "We came into the league really late. We always have an eye for next season. That is what every club and every coach does worldwide."
New faces expected in starting XI
With two games left of the season, the Kolkata giants have practically nothing to play for but pride. In spite of this, the Red and Gold have also gathered a couple of suspensions to their players, leading to the addition of one more challenge in their bucket. Quizzed about this scenario, the tactician said, "We have got a lot of suspensions. So, we will not be able to play our players, especially the foreign boys who have played every minute. Thus, we could see some new faces in the next match."
'NEUFC deserve the playoffs'
Speaking about his thoughts on the opposition on Tuesday, Tony Grant said, "I think they have done really great. They started the season pretty well." He further said, "They have recruited very well and I think they deserve to be in the top four. It's going to be a test for our lads to face them," before he signed off.
