The striker leaves India after spending two seasons in ISL and featuring for two clubs.
Spanish striker Aridane Santana has left Indian Super League (ISL) outfit Hyderabad FC. The former Odisha FC player joined the ISL back when the Juggernauts signed him ahead of the 2019-20 season. He will now join UD Logrones, a club who play their 2021-22 season in the third tier of Spanish football.
Aridane Santana had a successful stint in the ISL, where he played crucial roles for both Odisha FC and Hyderabad FC. He established himself as a dangerous target man and a brilliant finisher. The 34-year-old often dominated defenders using his physicality and aerial prowess.

He departs for a new challenge and will represent UD Logrones in the Primera Division R.F.E.F, the third division in Spain. The aim would be to guide the outfit back to the second tier of Spanish league football.
Santana: the prolific goalscorer
Aridane Santana played 32 games across two seasons in the ISL. In his first spell with Odisha FC, the striker scored nine goals and provided two assists in 14 appearances. He signed for fellow-strugglers Hyderabad next season and transformed their fortunes.
The Spaniard made 18 appearances for the Nizams, scoring 10 goals and providing two assists as well. A total of 19 goals and four assists in 2741 minutes of football was the overall output from the Spaniard in the ISL.
In the case of Hyderabad, they have already roped in former Mumbai City FC star Bartholomew Ogbeche ahead of next season. The Nigerian brings a different set of skills to the table and filling Aridane’s shoes would be a challenging task.

UD Logrones and their resurgence
The Spanish outfit played in La Liga 2 last year and finished in 20th spot from 24 teams in the table. Thus, they saw themselves relegated to the third division. Bringing in a striker like Aridane Santana is good business, as he possesses past experience of playing in Spain for several clubs, including Albacete and CD Tenerife.
In all likelihood, the club will regain promotion at the end of the 2021-22 season. Aridane will most-definitely play a huge role in achieving that target.
