The Spaniard led FC Goa to the playoffs last season in the ISL.
As revealed by Khel Now on Sunday, Indian Super League (ISL) outfit ATK Mohun Bagan have completed the signing of Juan Ferrando as their new head coach. The managerial change has been made by the Mariners just prior to the encounter against NorthEast United on Tuesday. The 40-year-old was on the radar of the Mariners along with two other names.
"I will give my 110% from Day 1 so all fans can enjoy the best brand of football and hopefully we can celebrate together soon. I will consistently work towards helping our team give their best," Juan Ferrando said, after completing the move from FC Goa.
On Sunday morning, Ferrando informed his former club, FC Goa, of his decision to join ATK Mohun Bagan. The Mariners were ready to pay the buyout clause for him and things fell quickly into place. The Spaniard originally had a two-year contract with the Gaurs, which would have ended after the ongoing 2021-22 season.

As Khel Now has previously mentioned, this deal will also be setting a new record in the Indian transfer market, allowing Juan Ferrando to emerge as the highest-paid coach in ISL's history.
Juan Ferrando’s stint in India
Ferrando is a coach who loves to play possession-based attacking football. The likes of Manvir Singh, Liston Colaco, Roy Krishna and Hugo Boumous will definitely be used to their fullest by the 40-year-old. Youngsters like Deepak Tangri, Sumit Rathi, Kiyan Nassiri and Sk Sahil will be the ones to benefit the most from this appointment, as the tactician has a reputation of nurturing several young talents.

The Spaniard has enjoyed a pretty successful stint in India so far. He joined the Gaurs in the summer of 2020, ahead of the previous edition of the league. In his first season in-charge, he took them to the playoffs after finishing fourth in the table.
In total, Juan Ferrando registered seven victories, 10 draws and just three defeats in the league last season. Under him, the Goan outfit also enjoyed a 15-match unbeaten run in the league, which started from a 2-1 victory over Jamshedpur FC on the December 23, 2020. The run ended after their loss to Mumbai City in their first outing this season, on November 22, 2021.
Under him, FC Goa also played in the AFC Champions League after they finished as table-toppers in the 2019-20 season. Later, they grabbed their first silverware this season, after defeating Mohammedan SC in the final of Durand Cup 2021 in October.
