The youngster notched 17 appearances for Chennaiyin FC in ISL 2020-21.
Indian Super League (ISL) outfit ATK Mohun Bagan have completed the signing of Deepak Tangri, the club confirmed on Tuesday. The 22-year-old has signed a two-year deal with the Mariners that will see him stay with them till the end of the 2022-23 season.
"Deepak is a Mariner! The former Mohun Bagan Academy midfielder is back in the City of Joy. He signs a two-year deal with ATK Mohun Bagan," the club's official statement read.
Deepak Tangri kick-started his football career at the youth setup of then-I-League club Mohun Bagan. In 2017, he signed for Indian Arrows before becoming an integral part of their squad in I-League 2017-18. He made 14 appearances that season, 13 in the league and one against Mumbai City FC in the Super Cup.

The versatile youngster joined Chennaiyin FC ahead of the 2018-19 ISL season. He was immediately loaned back to Indian Arrows to further hone his skills for another year. That move proved fruitful, as he featured in 16 I-League games and also scored his maiden league goal against Churchill Brothers. Upon his return to Chennaiyin at the end of the campaign, Tangri earned a promotion to the senior squad for ISL 2019-20. He then made his club debut versus FC Goa in December.
He played a more prominent role in the first-team in the 2020-21 season, clocking 1007 minutes across 17 matches. The player also also completed 388 passes with an accuracy of 72.16% and averaged 2.71 tackles, 1.24 interceptions, 2.00 clearances and 0.76 blocks per game.

ATK Mohun Bagan's pre-season preparations
The Mariners are building a strong squad ahead of the upcoming ISL 2021-22 season. They have already roped in Liston Colaco, Amrinder Singh, Joni Kauko etc. - and are looking to add more names to their roster.
After finishing runners up in the league last season, ATK Mohun Bagan are seemingly keen not to be at a similar situation again as evident from their pre-season preparations. Head coach Antonio Habas has also been granted a one-year extension to his term at the Kolkata outfit.
