ATK Mohun Bagan midfielder Jayesh Rane is in an advanced stage of talks to sign with Bengaluru FC, Khel Now can confirm. After spending four years at the Kolkata-based club, the 28-year-old has now decided to explore new opportunities. Rane was one of the key players speculated to move out of ATKMB to grab a more significant role ahead of the upcoming season. It seems the time has now come for the two-time Indian Super League (ISL) winner to accept new challenges with the Blues.

"Jayesh Rane has entered an advanced stage of negotiations with Bengaluru FC as he looks to occupy a key role in the midfield," a source close to the developments told Khel Now. "He has had offers from all the top four clubs from the ISL 2020-21 season."

After NorthEast United FC's dream run to the playoffs under Khalid Jamil, there were talks suggesting that the midfielder would reunite with his former coach. However, the source has now confirmed that the player is closing in on a move to the former ISL champions BFC.

Making crucial career decisions and being a part of the title-winning sides is something that has helped Jayesh Rane become one of the most decorated players in the country. He played an important role in the Chennaiyin FC squad that came up with a spirited comeback in the 2015 ISL to clinch the title.

But the player truly rose to fame at Aizawl FC, following their historic I-League win under Khalid Jamil. He had a terrific season with The People's Club as they made a statement by winning the I-League in 2016-17 defying all odds.

Jayesh who joined ATK in 2017 was a regular in the starting lineup initially, but Antonio Habas' arrival at the helm saw the utility midfielder struggle for game time. Though he proved his worth whenever given the chance, it is understood that the Mumbai-based player was unable to establish a key role in a highly competitive squad. Last season, Habas handed him 16 appearances throughout the season amassing a total of 417 minutes.

Bengaluru FC, on the other hand, are currently undergoing a transition as they eye to regain their lost glory under newly-appointed coach Marco Pezzaiuoli. The JSW-owned franchise had a disheartening end to their campaign last season as they failed to bag a playoffs spot. Thus, they are now in for a complete squad restoration and reorganization ahead of the new season. The addition of Jayesh Rane in the midfield is expected to be a fruitful move as he eyes to grab a crucial role in the team.
