The Mariners confirmed their spot in the playoffs with a tight win
Chennaiyin FC ended their campaign in defeat as the Marina Machans were undone by ATK Mohun Bagan in their final game of the season. Roy Krishna's drilled finish before half-time proved enough for the three-time champions. They had to dig deep and show patience in their efforts to come away with three points against Sabir Pasha's men.
The win confirmed their spot in the playoffs for the third consecutive season. Chennaiyin FC end their campaign with 20 points and could potentially finish 9th if FC Goa defeat Kerala Blasters in their final game.
Here are Khel Now's player ratings from Match 105.
Chennaiyin FC (by Kaushik G Viswanath)
Samik Mitra - 6
He wasn't tested a lot on his debut but couldn't keep out Roy Krishna's finish towards the end of the first half. The Chennaiyin goalie caught two and cleared two as well on the night.
Edwin Vanspaul - 6
He was a lively presence on the night creating four chances and taking three shots. Completed 82% of his passes and made two interceptions. He was taken off in the 84th minute.
Slavko Damjanovic - 5.5
Completed 86% of his passes and won three tackles. He also made six clearances, two interceptions and one block for Chennaiyin FC against ATK Mohun Bagan.
Salam Ranjan Singh - 5.5
Put in a good showing completing 98% of his passes. He won two tackles and made four interceptions and two clearances as well.
Jerry Lalrinzuala - 6
Had the second-most touches of any Chennaiyin player on the night (69) and kept Manvir quiet on the right flank for ATK Mohun Bagan against Chennaiyin FC. But he couldn't stop Roy Krishna from belting the winner in just before half-time. He won four tackles (highest by any CFC player), made one clearance and three interceptions respectively.
Germanpreet Singh - 5
Couldn't match up to the quality of his midfield counterparts on the night but did give a decent account of himself. Completed 80% of his passes and won one tackle on the night.
Jobby Justin - 5
Played plenty of loose passes and lacked the confidence to run up the pitch. He took only one shot which was on target and completed 67% of his passes.
Vladimir Koman - 6
Once again seemed like the only player who could spur something for the Marina Machans. Had the most touches once again by any CFC player (78). Created three chances on the night and completed 58 passes at an 84% accuracy. He also won two tackles and made one clearance on the night.
Rahim Ali - 6.5
Showed great energy to create chances for the Marina Machans. He caused problems with his dribbling and his work rate. Played in a variety of positions although his quality seems to open upfront. Created one chance, completed 69% of his passes, made four clearances and two interceptions. He was taken off in the 86th minute.
Reagan Singh - 5
Did make a few spirited runs on the right flank but couldn't contribute anything substantial. He played well defensively winning two tackles, making one clearance and five interceptions. He also created two chances and completed 71% of his passes.
Nerijus Valskis - 5
The Lithuanian cut an isolated and frustrated figure once again. He was easily played off the ball by the ATKMB defence and also didn't find any able partners upfront. Had a few shots on target but didn't really test Amrinder on the night. He completed 87% of his 15 attempted passes and made two interceptions.
Substitutes

ATK Mohun Bagan (By Uttiyo Sarkar)
Amrinder Singh – 7.0
Amrinder wasn’t really severely put under pressure but often tested with some wicked attempts. The ATK Mohun Bagan goalie made 5 saves, including some really nice reflex ones to get a clean sheet for himself.
Pritam Kotal – 6.0
Put in a decent shift defensively, even though caught napping with a few lazy challenges at times. Pretty ineffective going forward, failing to create anything prominent down the right.
Sandesh Jhingan – 7.5
Jhingan enjoyed the tussle with Vaslkis and came up with some clutch challenges to stop him from scoring. Looked composed and confident at the back, helping churn another clean sheet for ATKMB.
Tiri – 8.0
The Spaniard maintained a strong backline with Jhingan and asserted his authority with commanding defending. Made 5 clearances, 2 interceptions and 2 blocks to nullify Chennaiyin’s threat and moved the ball forward smoothly.
Subhashish Bose – 6.0
Bose grafted hard defensively to frustrate his opponents but was caught in bizarre positions at times. Couldn’t really make an impact going forward with his crosses not being accurate enough.
Carl McHugh – 7.0
The Irishman was very disciplined in possession, moving the ball around efficiently. Made over 90 passes, distributed things with composure and dominated the midfield battle with 3 tackles & 2 blocks, ensuring his side weren’t put under severe pressure.
Deepak Tangri – 6.0
The energetic midfielder pressed the Chennaiyin players well to help his side dominate things in midfield. A bit aggressive for his own good at times, but put in a hard-working shift.
Manvir Singh – 5.0
Started as a centre-forward for ATK Mohun Bagan even with Krishna playing, but failed to outwit the Chennaiyin FC centre-back. Moved to the right-wing in the second half and failed to make an impact, wasting a big chance as well.
Joni Kauko – 8.0
A volatile, menacing figure in midfield egged his side forward with his hungry nature. Set up Krishna’s goal with a perfect pass through the Chennaiyin defence. Bossed things inside Chennaiyin’s half and ensured all the good things went through him in the first hour.
Liston Colaco – 5.5
Liston couldn’t really be a major threat through the left, struggling to get past Reagan Singh on multiple occasions. Involved in some bright moves but not as menacing as usual.
Roy Krishna – 7.5
Smacked the post in the early minutes with a vicious attempt, but got one past the goalkeeper in ruthless fashion to give his side the lead. Impressed with his link-up play and general movement, performing brightly in his first full game in a long time.
Substitutes
Prabir Das – 6.0
Played on the left wing to nullify Chennaiyin’s threat through that side, keeping Reagan quiet.
Lenny Rodrigues – 6.5
Added more energy to the midfield, making some key interceptions to get the ball forward and helped his side see the game out.
Kiyan Nassiri – N/R
Made a few nice runs into the box but was not really able to make a big impact.
Ashutosh Mehta – N/R
Brought on towards the end to help ATKMB see out the result.
Michael Soosairaj – N/R
Made a few nice dribbling runs towards the end.
