FC Goa forward Redeem Tlang is set to join Odisha FC on loan for the remainder of the season. The 26-year-old has featured in only one match this season for FC Goa. After initially missing out with injury, Tlang made his first appearance of ISL 2021-22 in the 2-1 defeat to SC East Bengal. He was then not part of the squad in the 1-1 draw with Bengaluru FC.

"Redeem Tlang is set to join Odisha FC on a loan deal," a source close to the developments informed Khel Now. "It will be a short-term loan deal until the end of this season," the source added.

Tlang, who joined FC Goa ahead of the 2020-21 Indian Super League season, has so far made just 12 ISL appearances for the club in one and a half seasons. His only ISL goal for FC Goa came against Bengaluru FC last season. Redeem was also part of the Gaurs' squad for the AFC Champions League and made three appearances, each of them ending in defeats and also played in the title-winning Durand Cup campaign.

Barring a group stage match against Sudeva Delhi, the 26-year-old featured in all the matches as FC Goa clinched the Durand Cup, after beating Mohammedan SC in the final. Incidentally, he scored only one goal in the tournament and that also came against Bengaluru FC.

A product of the famous Shillong Lajong academy, Tlang also played for NorthEast United in the ISL. He was part of the Highlanders' squad in the inaugural season of the league and returned once again in the 2018-19 campaign. He scored four goals for the Highlanders in 36 appearances.

Odisha FC in ISL 2021-22

Odisha FC, meanwhile, have endured a top-turvy sort of season in ISL 2021-22. They are currently sixth in the points table, with 17 points from 12 matches. The Juggernauts, who sacked Kiko Ramirez earlier this month, have won five games and lost as many. Assistant coach Kiko Sanchez has taken over as the head coach. With Jonathas de Jesus currently not available, Tlang's addition gives them one more forward in the attacking third.
