Here's what Juan Ferrando said about FC Goa after win over former club

The Spaniard also had praise for the Indian duo of Manvir Singh and Liston Colaco.
ATK Mohun Bagan stormed to second in the Indian Super League with a 2-0 win over FC Goa on Tuesday. A brace from Manvir Singh solidified a big win for the Mariners, who are now on a nine-game unbeaten streak since Juan Ferrando took over.
Thoughts on the performance
Despite the win, the Spaniard was still not fully happy with his team’s performance, as he remarked after the game.“Of course, I’m not thinking about FC Goa. I’m thinking about my team and we had more opportunities. But, the timing of the passes in the build-up, the timing of the pressing wasn’t good. That’s the truth.
“I understand the players are very tired, it was a difficult game for them because to play after only 48 hours following the last game is very difficult. They have a personality, but they’re not fresh in passing or control. I’m happy about the character of our team, but I’m upset about certain details of the performance,” Juan Ferrando added.
Feelings on Manvir & Liston’s ability
Manvir Singh scored an impressive brace, with both goals being setup by Liston Colaco. When questioned about whether they’re India’s best attacking players right now, Ferrando answered, “At the moment, I think I’m happy, but they need to improve a lot.
"Of course, I’m pretty sure the Indian fans are happy with their performance, but they need to improve more. For example, Liston is very young and he needs to learn about a lot of things in football.”
Thoughts on ATKMB’s success without key foreigners
ATKMB picked up the win despite being without the likes of Hugo Boumous, Carl McHugh or Roy Krishna. Juan Ferrando believes this shows the quality of the entire squad, as he said, “You can see (the quality of) the team.
"They’re fighting, they try to work and my hats off to them. I’m not happy, as some important players are not with us. But, the rest of the squad are in the same level as the key foreign players.”
Change in system here to stay with Jhingan’s impact?
Sandesh Jhingan made an instant impact for ATKMB, helping them keep their first clean-sheet in five games. When asked about whether he’ll stick with this same system going forward, the Spaniard explained, “No, for me the system is not important. We start the game in a 3-5-2 because we want to build in our build-up.
"If we have no success, we’ll change to 4-2-3-1 with the right-back and left-back inside. If we don’t have success with that, we’ll play 4-4-2 and try to improve the build-up. We also have to change some details with our high pressing because that was terrible!”
Remarks on FC Goa’s state
Finally, the ex-FC Goa manager was questioned about whether the Gaurs have failed to play to their full potential this season.
He replied, “I can't talk about that. I’ll only talk about ATK Mohun Bagan, which is my team. On 19th December, I left the club (FC Goa) and I won’t talk about them anymore.”
