Hyderabad FC sign Khassa Camara after Edu Garcia's departure

The Mauritian has already represented NorthEast United earlier this season in ISL 2021-22.
Hyderabad FC have completed the signing of former NorthEast United midfielder Khassa Camara on a short-term deal until the end of the season, the club announced on Saturday. The 29-year-old joins the Nizams as a free agent and replaces Edu Garcia in the squad.
“I am very happy to join Hyderabad FC and it is a pleasure to be a part of this fantastic club this season,” said Camara.
The 29-year-old has 40-plus appearances for Mauritania. He was a part of the squad at the recently concluded Africa Cup of Nations.

Having started his career in France with Troyes, Camara moved to the Indian Super League in 2020, after spending four years with Greek Super League side Xanthi. He made 21 appearances for NorthEast United in the previous season and added a further seven to his tally earlier this season, before being called up by his national side.
Khassa Camara already has a goal to his name in the ISL this season and has vowed to give his best for Hyderabad FC in the business end of the campaign.
“There is not much time, but I will try my best to help Hyderabad achieve our targets this season. Whenever the coach needs me, I will try to contribute in the best way possible that I can,” said Camara.
“Our team has done really well so far this season. The plan is to continue the good work and help the team with my qualities on and off the field,” he added.

Edu Garcia leaves Hyderabad FC
Earlier the club confirmed that their midfielder Edu Garcia has left for personal reasons. The player and the club have mutually agreed to terminate his contract, allowing him to leave for Spain on an urgent basis. It is unclear as to what is the exact reason behind his departure as of yet.
Manolo Marquez’s men are sitting at the top of the league table, with 29 points after 16 matches. The Nizams are inching closer to a first-ever playoffs qualification and are in the race to also win the League Winners' Shield. However, the departure of Garcia will certainly pose troubles moving forward.
Garcia joined Hyderabad FC ahead of the 2021-22 season. During his stay with HFC, the midfielder played 11 matches. He scored two goals and also made one assist. Edu Garcia is an ISL winner with ATK and his absence will certainly be a negative for HFC.
