SC East Bengal in advanced talks to sign forward Subha Ghosh
The 20-year-old won the I-League with Mohun Bagan in 2019-20.
Indian Super League (ISL) outfit SC East Bengal are making swift moves in the transfer market ahead of deadline day. After agreeing loan deals for Amarjit Singh Kiyam from FC Goa and Jackichand Singh from Mumbai City, the Red & Gold Brigade are keen to sign Kerala Blasters' Subha Ghosh - also on a loan deal, Khel Now can confirm.
"Subha Ghosh may spend the 2021-22 season away from Kerala Blasters. He has received interest from SC East Bengal, who want to sign him on a loan deal. The deal could get done," sources close to the developments informed Khel Now. We also understand that the Yellow Army have officially prepared a list of players who could leave on similar loan deals.

About the player
Hailing from Kolkata, West Bengal, Subha Ghosh is an academy product of Mohun Bagan. After spending the earliest days of his football career there, he earned a promotion to the Mariners' senior team who were then playing in the I-League. He won the league title with them in the 2019-20 season and afterwards signed with ATK Mohun Bagan.
The forward had scored three goals in eight appearances in I-League 2019-20. However, he did not get any action in the ISL following his ATKMB move. This, in turn, led him to join Kerala Blasters in January 2021.
A controversy surrounding the Nongdamba Naorem - Subha Ghosh swap deal between Blasters and ATK Mohun Bagan rendered him out of action for the remainder of the league, pending AIFF approval. By the time the approval came confirming him to be a part of the KBFC roster, ISL 2020-21had concluded. He was later close to joining their Reserves' side for the Kerala Premier League (KPL), but an injury delayed his return to the pitch even further.

Ahead of the 2021-22 ISL season, the 20-year-old got the call-up to be a part of the KBFC pre-season squad. He featured in two friendlies earlier this month and also scored a goal against Kerala United on Friday.
SC East Bengal's pre-season preparations
The Red & Gold Brigade are preparing for ISL 2021-22. With the transfer window ending on August 31, there is very little time left for the club to sign players contracted to other clubs. As a result, they will try to acquire their services as quickly as possible.
Hira Mondal, Ritwik Das, Sarineo Fernandes, Thoi Singh, Raju Gaikwad, Ankit Mukherjee and Arindam Bhattacharya are among the players with whom SCEB have held talks so far. Additionally, Khel Now understands that clubs like Odisha FC have also offered some of their players on loan to the Kolkata giants.
