What promised to be a scintillating competition turned out to be a one-sided affair in Guwahati. Reigning champions Hyderabad FC showed their mettle again by defeating NorthEast United FC 3-0. The game consisted of many things, including a missed penalty, and provided high-octane entertainment to the fans.
Hyderabad FC was clearly the better side as they dominated the game across all the sections and twice in four minutes in the second half to achieve a comprehensive win. Here's how we rate the performances of the players of both teams.
NorthEast United FC
Arindam Bhattacharya (GK) - 6.5
It was a mixed outing for Arindam as Hyderabad FC played brilliantly while they were on the attack. He made six saves, including a penalty, but conceded thrice. It could have been a better day for him if his defence stepped up a little more.
Mohamed Irshad - 5
Irshad had a poor match today. He played for 56 minutes and had a total of only 25 touches. He was neither able to go up much on the right side nor was able to provide enough stability to the right side of NorthEast United's defence. Throughout the game, he made only 15 passes, out of which only 10 reached the intended players.
Gaurav Bora - 6
Gaurav played relatively well in NorthEast's defence when compared to his comrades. He got 51 touches and made 38 passes with 63% accuracy. However, he should have done better in case of the second goal conceded by their team.
Michael Jakobsen - 6.5
Michael's game today was not up to the mark. Being the primary central defender of the side, he should have done better in all the instances where his team conceded. He did not make any successful tackles or interceptions throughout the game.
Gurjinder Kumar - 7
Gurjinder was undoubtedly the best player in NorthEast United's defence today. He had the highest number of touches among all NorthEast defenders. He also made three clearances and four successful interceptions. However, he should look to contribute more to NorthEast's attacks in their upcoming fixtures.
Parthib Gogoi - 5.5
Parthib's performance in the game was quite poor as he was not able to impact the game in the midfield. He completed only seven passes throughout the time while he was on the pitch. He was also not able to help his side's defence.
Jon Gaztanaga - 8
Gaztanaga had a good day at the office. He took two shots, both of which were off target, however. He managed a total of 53 touches and completed 23 passes. Gaztanaga was also good in defence as he made three interceptions, five tackles, and six clearances.
Emanuel Lalchhanchhuaha - 5.5
It was a bad game for Emanuel as he was not able to influence the game either in defence or in the attack. Consequently, he played for only 66 minutes after which he was subbed off.
Jithin MS - 5
A similar story unfolded for Jithin as well as he was also not able to impact the game in any manner. Because of his poor show, he was subbed off in the 75th minute.
Romain Philippoteaux - 7.5
Philippoteaux looked quite lively at the heart of NorthEast United's lineup. He made good runs, played a few good passes, and looked threatening whenever he went up with Matt. He took nine set pieces in total and most of them looked threatening.
Matt Derbyshire - 7
Matt had a bittersweet outing tonight. He tried his best to make an impact on the game. Yet, lack of support from his midfield meant all his efforts were futile. He took four shots, one of which was on target. He earned five fouls for the team.

Substitutes
Rochharzela - 8
Rochharzela played very well within the limited time he was on the field. Despite playing for only 34 minutes, he created two chances, the highest among NorthEast United players. He also whipped in three crosses, but nobody was able to convert any of them.
Gani Nigam - 7
After coming on as a sub, Gani provided some stability to NorthEast's defence's right side. He made two successful tackles and two successful interceptions.
Pragyan Gogoi - 5
Gogoi played for only around 24 minutes. Yet, he was able to impact the game to some extent by stretching Hyderabad's defence. Among NorthEast's two on-target shots, one was from him.
Imran Khan - 4.5
Imran Khan played today for only around 15 minutes. It was not enough for him to change the game. He was able to get only seven touches and made only five passes. It did not change the domination of Hyderabad FC.
Hyderabad FC
Laxmikant Kattimani (GK) - 7
Laxmikant Kattimani collected his first clean-sheet of the season with a fabulous performance. Saving a close-range effort from Matt Derbyshire was one of the highlights from the custodian.
Chinglensana Singh - 6.5
The pairing between Chinglensana Singh and Odei Onainida was in good nick tonight. The centre-back was clean in his performance, keeping the doors shut on NorthEast United attackers. Although he got a yellow card but contributed with four clearances.
Odei Onaindia - 7.5
Odei Onaindia was a leader at the back as usual and took his side to a clean-sheet. He was close to Matt Derbyshire and did not allow him space to score. He had five clearances and two blocks.
Nikhil Poojary - 6.5
The full-back had a good game and went off as a sub in the 89th minute after helping Hyderabad FC keep NorthEast United attackers at bay. He had three interceptions and two successful tackles in a decent defensive display.
Manoj Mohammad - 7
Manoj Mohammad did well in the left-back position in the absence of Akash Mishra. He was solid in his defensive work. He made four interceptions, three blocks and three clearances. It will be difficult for Mishra to get back into the starting lineup if Manoj remains consistent.
Joao Victor - 6.5
The skipper was again solid for Hyderabad FC in the middle. He provided cover to the defence amicably and caused turnovers too.
Mohammad Yasir - 7.5
Mohammad Yasir carried his form from the first game into the fixture against NorthEast United. He got an assist after delivering a beautiful cross for the first goal from Bartholomew Ogbeche. The winger fed his teammates with numerous through balls and took attempts on goal himself as well in a very ambitious performance.
Hitesh Sharma - 5.5
Hitesh Sharma had a rather tough night in the midfield. He picked up a yellow card and also struggled to impact the game during the transitions. The midfielder made three interceptions but must be careful with his tackling.
Halicharan Narzary - 8
Halicharan Narzary added an important second goal for Hyderabad FC to give the team some breathing space. He stole the ball off Gaurav Bora in the attacking third and finished past the goalkeeper with immense composure. He also provided an assist for the third goal.
Bartholomew Ogbeche - 7
Bartholomew Ogbeche scored his first goal of the 2022-23 ISL campaign with a calm finish from close range to give Hyderabad FC the lead. He also won the penalty which was later saved by Arindam Bhattacharya in goal. He also smashed one of his shots against the crossbar.
Javier Siverio - 6.5
Javier Siverio had multiple chances to score and gave a good account of himself. He had four shots on target, including a header which was saved by Arindam with a diving right hand.
