The 24-year-old was part of the Mariners' I-League-winning squad last season.
On Saturday, Indian midfielder Alexander Romario Jesuraj officially announced his exit from Mohun Bagan, following the end of his one-year loan deal with the club. He has also returned to his parent club FC Goa and confirmed the news via his social media handles.
"It was a wonderful season with you Mariners. It began with some hiccups, but we sailed through in the end. I would like to thank all the management, coaches, technical staff, my teammates, the fans and everyone associated with the club. Winning another I-League was a dream come true. Thank you all for being patient. I would also like to thank the city of Kolkata, it was my first year out and the city did not disappoint. Thank you all for believing in me," he wrote.
He added: "I would also like to congratulate everyone for making it to the ISL. It would be a great feeling this season playing (with FC Goa) against you. I’m sure we will try and outdo each other. It will be fun to watch who comes out on top. Thank you all for the wonderful memories! Joy Mohun Bagan!"

The 24-year-old burst onto the scene in 2017, after joining Chennai City FC. He made his I-League and Super Cup debut in the 2017-18 season and in the following year lifted his maiden I-League title with them. Overall, he registered three goals and assists each in 38 appearances for The Lions, before FC Goa signed him and loaned him out to Bagan.
Romario did well in his debut for the Mariners as they cruised to a 4-0 win against TRAU FC, but an injury that followed forced him to stay on the sidelines for a major part of the remaining season. He then returned to the field in the last week of January 2020, notched his only assist of the campaign during a 6-2 win against NEROCA FC and played five more matches before the competition got suspended due to COVID-19.
However, Kibu Vicuna's team had established an unassailable lead at the top of the table by then and as a result, they were declared champions.
