The Nizams also announced that the 31-year-old will join Perth Glory, his former club, on a loan deal till the end of the ongoing 2020-21 season.

"The 31-year-old Aussie who can play in multiple positions in attack will now join his former side Perth Glory on a short-term deal till the end of the current 2020-21 A-League season. After missing some initial games with an injury, Joel Chianese returned with a bang for Manolo Marquez’s men scoring three times and providing one assist in 12 appearances. A constant threat in attack, he combined well with the Indian and overseas players upfront as Hyderabad FC put on an impressive run in the ISL 2020-21. We wish Joel the very best with Perth Glory in the current A-League season," the official statement from HFC further added.

Meanwhile, Hyderabad FC did well in the recently concluded ISL 2020-21 season and almost reached the playoffs, finally finishing at fifth place on the league standings.

Under Manolo Marquez, they looked really mature as a single unit and was a part of the playoffs race till almost the final league stage match. Later, six HFC youngsters also earned call ups to the Indian football team camp and that bears testimony to how well the Nizams fared even in the absence of some of their injured foreigners. Marquez' efforts have been rewarded with a two-year extension, with more such good news expected from the club's side in the weeks to come.
