The winger will join the Marina Machans for an undisclosed transfer fee.
Kerala Blasters' young winger Vincy Barretto is set to sign for Chennaiyin FC, Khel Now can confirm. The 22-year-old most recently played in the RF Development League (RFDL), where he scored three goals in seven appearances.
"Vincy Barretto is set to join Chennaiyin FC for an undisclosed transfer fee," a source close to the developments informed Khel Now. He played 14 matches for Kerala Blasters in the recently concluded Indian Super League (ISL) season, but most of them came off the bench.
He had joined the Blasters from Gokulam Kerala last season after helping the Malabarians lift their maiden I-League title. Vincy had arrived at Gokulam from FC Goa reserves where he spent nearly three years. Having started off with Dempo SC, the right-winger moved to FC Goa in 2017. He played for the Gaurs' reserve side winning the Goa Professional League and also playing in the I-League second division.

At Gokulam Kerala, Vincy featured semi-regularly and played 15 games across two competitions. He did become a key member towards the end of the league phase and also played the final two games in the Championship stage, including the title-decider against TRAU FC. He was sent off in the season finale after receiving two bookings within the space of 16 minutes.
The 22-year-old scored twice in ISL 2021-22 in 14 appearances. One of them came against his former team FC Goa in a thrilling 4-4 draw where he came off the bench and scored the third deep in the second half. His other goal in the Indian top-flight was a 95th-minute stunner against Hyderabad, albeit in a losing cause. In the RFDL, Vincy was among the best players in the competition. His three goals included a crucial match-winner against Chennaiyin FC.

Chennaiyin FC's preparation for next season
The Marina Machans are close to confirming their head coach for the next season. After yet another disappointing campaign in ISL 2021-22, Chennaiyin FC have roped in some fine young talents for the next season. They have also extended the contract of Anirudh Thapa, who captained the team last season.
Apart from that, Chennaiyin FC have also signed midfielder Sourav Das from East Bengal and Romario Jesuraj from FC Goa. Earlier on Monday, the club also announced Rafael Crivellaro will return next season.
