The 21-year-old is a bright young talent and can prove to be a good signing for the Juggernauts.

Odisha FC are set to sign left-back Sahil Panwar from Hyderabad FC, a source close to the developments informed Khel Now on Tuesday. The Indian Super League outfit has been recruiting youngsters since the past season and with Panwar, they will have yet another talent in their ranks.

"Young left-back Sahil Panwar is all set for a move to Odisha FC on a two-year deal," quoted the source. "The Juggernauts are confident of his talent and have decided to show faith in his abilities."

The 21-year-old defender rose through the ranks at the now disbanded Pune FC during his youth years. Thereafter, he made the switch to the then ISL side FC Pune City and grabbed the attention of many with his spirited performances. Under Ranko Popovic in 2017-18, Sahil Panwar had his breakthrough season and established himself as a regular in the Stallions' starting lineup in the following one.

In 2019, the defender shifted to Hyderabad and continued as coach Phil Brown's trusted man in defence in the club's debut season. However, it was a forgettable campaign for the Nizams as they finished at the bottom place. Nevertheless, Sahil Panwar was robust in the backline, making 40 tackles and 61 clearances in 12 appearances.

In the previous season, Hyderabad FC coach Manolo Marquez showed his faith with the in-form Akash Mishra, who had a splendid campaign. Unfortunately, that also meant Sahil Panwar fell down the pecking order. He barely earned any minutes under the Spaniard and with the hope of earning more game time, has now set sights for Odisha FC.

Meanwhile, Odisha had an underwhelming campaign under Stuart Baxter as they could only grab two wins in 20 games. However, few bright young talents did grab eyeballs with their skills and composure. Panwar's signing is well in line with the club's mission of giving young stars a chance and it would be fascinating to see how the move pans out for both.
